Lauren. I have enjoyed food at the Black Angus since I was in my teens (am now in my 50s). The steaks are perfectly cooked, as is everything on the plate. Salads are fresh and desserts wonderful.
This restaurant has seen better days. We ate ar the bar. After 3 couples walked out due not being waited on . We finally had another customer who was paying their bill pointed us out. We had been waiting for 20 minutes. The happy hour items we choose came at different time. Didn’t even get to have a second glass of wine because we we told they had no clean glasses(after another long wait! This was seemed to be a management issue. The other bar patrons were all suffering. They were not very busy so no excuse for this. It will be awhile before we return.
Chill Happy Hour. They have a great happy hour in the Bull’s Eye Bar. It’s not typically loud or rowdy. I swing by when I’m in the mood to just chill out and sip a beer and watch whatever sports happen to be on. The happy hour menu has some great specials on food and drinks. The food is pretty tasty, especially the fire grilled artichoke. The free wi-fi is a nice touch.
One of the best steakhouses in town. I love the fact this restaurant is so quite. I hate going out to dinner and after you leave you have a headache because it is so loud, that does not happen here. It is a bit pricey, but the campfire coupon is amazing and there is usually one in the paper every month. Plenty of food for 2 and enough for at least two more meals with leftovers. Plus the artichoke is delicious!!!
Incredibly, incredibly slow.. I went to Black Angus with some coworkers the week before Chrismas. We went in the middle of the week in the evening and there were very few people in the place. We sat in the bar area; there were about 10 of us.I liked that the place was relatively empty, and so it was quiet, so we could have nice conversations. I also like that the starters menu had the calorie count in it (even if it did scare me off the starters). I wound up ordering a filet with green beans and sweet potato fries, which was a fairly respectable and healthy option. The stead was cooked a tad longer than I would have liked, but still good. The food was all good. The problem was that it took a very, very long time to get anything – drinks, food, anything. As I mentioned, it was not a busy night. The waitress was also fairly short with us, so short that my husband asked me if this was my experience (it was mostly females) and did most waitresses treat women this way? I assued him they did not. There are a lot of restaurants in Albuquerque, good food and fast, friendly service. Black Angus is fine as far as food, but not as fine as the prices on their menu think they are, and certainly not fine enough for someone to tolerate surly, slow help.
Bad food – bad service. Had artichoke and potato skins both were way over cooked- and cold, probably from day before food, seemed old. plate given was dirty – service slow and drab
I have been here many times and the food is always consistent. Sometimes the service is better than other times but I have never had a bad experience. Happy hour is good and especially with the lunch card coupons the prices are reasonable.
