Steaks are excellent but prices are too high for self service salads. Management needs to establish a dress code. I saw men walking around wearing shower shoes and wearing ball caps while eating.
It was my first time having dinner at Cooperage and I won’t be in a hurry to go back. My wife and I ordered the prime rib. I expected better from a restaurant that prides itself on being a steakhouse. My prime rib was as thin as a pancake and tasteless. The salad bar is satisfactory with fresh greens and vegetables. The soup was clam chodder which was quite good. I will not comment on the service because it would be unfair. We were with a group of twenty-five and only had one server who did his best to keep up. Lastly, the wine list offers enough variety to satisfy everyone’s taste.
Very disappointed In my visit. The salad bar was very good but the prime rib, while a generous cut, was cold and tasteless. The decor is very outdated as well, including stains on the painted-over wallpaper. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices are high but not outrageous.
Best salad bar in ABQ.
Lauren3561. I regularly dined at The Cooperage with my parents after it first opened years ago and it had wonderful food and great service. Went there a couple of months ago and was appalled to have cold food at room temperature and hot food barely warm; the salad had an off flavor and service was slow, to say the least. Sad to see this place so rundown.
Very poor. Two guests. Ordered steak and prime rib. Steak was over done and had to be sent back. Prime rib should have been sent back. Salad bar was average at best.Over priced for the quality and poor service.A generous rating for this restaurant would be one star.
Why is this place still open?. After living in Albuquerque for about 15 years, I don’t know why I keep trying it from time to time, but I do. This last visit may have been the very last. Dirty silverware on the table, dirty plates at the salad bar. The soups look like they are weeks old and taste like it too. Slowest service in the world (hire more than one server – it’s not her fault). The dishes are overpriced, with outdated bland rice or baked potato. The bar is good. That’s about it.
