Service Sorely Lacking. This is a quaint little resteraunt with good food. However the service definately leaves something to be desired. Very rude!!! We asked a question about a dish and recieved a sarcastic response. This was from an older blondish lady. She did not return to check on our table, refill drinks, bring dessert or even the check!! As other’s have mentioned if they know you, you will recieve better service. As for the food, that was great. The plates are all inclusive: they include entree, tea and dessert all for about $11.50. Based on the service, I am questioning whether or not I would return. Owners remember that there are several places with excellent New Mexican food AND great service in Albuquerque. You might rethink your server (the older blondish one). The dark haired one is really nice and was helpful!
Where to start. We never actually got to eat here, we were sent there by family proclaiming how good it was. We support local business as much as possible but not this one. We arrived and the hostess whom it seemed we were bothering took our name, never giving us a wait time. We proceeded to wait patiently, until a couple came in whom she obviously knew and she seated them immediately. Thinking this was a fluke we waited some more, then another group of people again the hostess knew were seated immediately. That was it. We walked out and will never return. We explained our situation to our family and they too are now boycotting Eloy’s. Try some of the other locally owned Mexican restaurants and show Eloys that bad service won’t be tolerated.
Cranky family owned restaurant!. We are almost scared to use our once-a-year Entertainment coupon for this restaurant. We’ve done so in the past. When the waitresses see the coupon presented, they give you cranky service & a crankster attitude!!! We always tip more than usual when using coupons, but this really makes you think twice!P.S. Dinner is not fun when your sitting on eggshells!
Disappointed. We just ordered some chicken taco salads for takeout…what a bummer! so, so small (smaller in diameter than a pie tin), with not the best chicken. very simple, not much flavor. definitely not worth the money and the gas to get there. it’s the only time we’ve tried it, but probably wouldn’t recommend it…
Alright. Kerri and I stopped in yesterday for lunch. She was not impressed with the stuffed sopaipillas and I had the chicken enchiladas smothered in green which were good but not great. The chile wasn’t hot and left us both dissappointed. The service was not friendly at all. I’ll try it again, but not for a while. Maybe things will improve.
Busy and delicious. I can see why this place is popular now. I went on a week-night and fortunately we got there before the dinner rush. I ordered the sour cream chicken enchiladas for dinner. The dinner comes with guacamole salad, which is a bed of lettuce and a scoop of guac and about 3-4 chips. It also came with a free iced tea and a pudding-like dessert. The guacamole salad was delicious and the enchilada was also very good. I opted out of trying the dessert because I am not a fan of pudding/custards. My guest ordered the arroz con pollo and we were disappointed that the chicken was still attached to the bone which made it harder to eat, but it was still extremely tasty. Overall though, the food was good and extremely affordable considering the entree came with an appetizer, drink, and dessert all included. I will be back again!
Poor Quality. I had the carne adovada plate. Carne adovada is normally one of my very favorite Mexican dishes, not this time. The dish had more chunks of fat in it than pork. The red chili was extremely mild and tasted as though it had been mixed with ketchup. Desert comes with the meal. The natillas, egg milk custard, had a decent flavor, but were bad quality. There were large chunks of egg in mine, which ruined the custard. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in Albuquerque, so I will not be back to this one.
