Used to be very very good (we went every few weeks) but went downhill about 6 months ago. We gave this place several chances afterward but the quality of the food and service is consistently poor. We are done with this place.
Too small for clientele. We’d been here several times before and enjoyed the food, but the last time I left distinctly unimpressed. I know it’s a small space and it’s popular, but it’s just getting ridiculous. More people are milling about waiting for a table than are actually eating at any given time; once we were seated we constantly had diners practically in our lap, standing less than six inches from our food, walking between our chairs and the table so we almost poked them in the crotch as we tried to reach our spring rolls. We waited for about twenty minutes to be seated (we left the restaurant and returned as there is no reasonable place to stand, although nobody else who came in seemed to have gotten that memo), and then from the time we gave our order it was well over 45 minutes until we were served. At about the half hour mark we were informed that they had run out of rice (how does a Thai restaurant run out of rice?) and seriously considered cutting our losses and leaving, but at that point we were famished and tired so we stayed and accepted our riceless curries. We did notice that the manager was very apologetic to several nearby tables and offered them discounts on their bill, but when we finished she didn’t come out and the waitress didn’t mention any discounts. We didn’t want to press the issue, but we won’t be back.
SO good!. Having recently moved to ABQ, I was really surprised to find such amazing Thai food here! Me and my partner both thought the food there was comparable to Thailand, absolutely delicious! So happy to find great Thai here.
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHIN SPECIAL. Old decor, interior not maintained and haphazardly painted and cleaned. Food averages 11.25 for what I am not sure. Cook add a weird ingredients such as tomato chunks and cauliflower in Pad Thai and Chow Mein?? $ 25.00 for lunch for two people, no appetizer no desert one water one tea. LOL!!! They must have know the critics were coming is all I can say and don’t get the good reviews or the people that eat there on a regular basis have no clue. I am very observant and aware of my surroundings at all time and noticed right away the place is not kept up very well at all and outdated as well as worn out and semi dirty. When I got my bill it was in a filthy food stained check folder that I only touched e th the pen. Totally grossed me out, yuk!!! People, a good rule of thumb is when you go into a restaurant and it is haphazardly kept up, worn out and not to much attention is given to dirty things what do you think is going on in the kitchen??? Just saying!!!
Wish they were open on Saturday!. If you go during the week, I recommend getting their as close to 11:00 as possible as it gets busy quick. We went during a workday, got their early and ordered quickly. Good decision as the place was quickly packed. Food was outstanding. Waitress recommended I go one up from mild and the pineapple curry was perfect. One of our table mates ordered the hottest and he was pleased though his face was flushed and dewey:)
Disappointment. We have been to Thai Tip several times and this used to one of our favorite restuarants. Our last visit was a major disappointment with quality and freshness. We really liked the place in the past but have now taken Thai Tip off our list and will not return.
Red Curry. Thai hot which is FIRE but so so good. Can’t wait to share this place with friends! Plus they have beer and wine!
