The Real Deal! And if you like lamb…. When I saw all the lamb dishes on the menu I knew it was different from most New Mex restaurants. Lamb chops, lamb costillas (ribs), roast leg of lamb. All are tender and juicy. Angelina’s also has the best chicos I have ever had, get there early because the sellout. And try the quelitas when they’re in season. When you see chicos and quelitas on the menu of a New Mexican restaurant then you know you are getting home cooking. Their green chile is great along with their sopapillas. I go out of my way to stop in for a meal.
Real New Mexican Food. Definitely some authentic New Mexican food. The lamb enchiladas with red chile were wonderful. It’s always great to find a place that still makes their chile the traditional way instead of using chile powder. The refried beans and rice that accompanied it were delicious also. Sopaipillas….even better. My favorite New Mexican restaurant by far.
NM’s best kept secret. I have never found any other restaurant anywhere that serves lamb burritos, costillas, chops or fajitas that are time and time again exceptional. The taste of these lamb dishes is unbeatable when the red chile is added. Its worth the drive from anywhere in NM.
Overpriced, dirty, and filthy. I was charged nearly $10 just for an Enchilda, no beans or rice just because it was flat. The place had a dirty feel to it , the bathrooms also were unclean and unkempt. The servers and waittresses had negative attitudes, the idiot that served me started by calling me Boss several times and then giggling, then he changed to calling me bud. When the food came the cheese was unmelted, the chile was fairly tasty but that is way to much for just an enchilda. I will never return to this lousy place . A disgruntled native new mexican.
Good food!. I like Angelina’s. Their chicharrone stuffed sopaipilla is pure awesome, and you can get two huge lamb burritos for $8. Well-priced, homey atmosphere (kind of like my grandma’s kitchen) and tasty chile.
The Best!. Angelina’s serves the best traditional NM cuisine of any place I’ve found in the state, after 20 years of looking. As good as the green chile is (as others have mentioned) the red is even better. I’ll drive up to Espanola from Santa Fe, just to eat at Angelina’s. Better traditional food than anything you can find in Santa Fe (of course there are fabulous nouvelle NM cuisine, but now you’re talking big bucks). Prices are very reasonable.Great place to stop if you’re on your way to Taos, Bandolier, or Los Alamos from Santa Fe
Good food, good variety, great price for the food you get. Very tasty. Would eat at again. Only problem we had was getting our check, couldn’t find our waitress. Only get 1 free refill except for ice tea.
