Mexican food in small-town New Mexico is decidedly NOT something a boy from South Texas would normally consider eating a second time. But upon the recommendation of my wife, who was here 4 years ago, we went to this restaurant attached to a local motel and split an order of Mariscada: shrimp, scallops, pulpo and fish mixed with rice and mushrooms.The dish is absolutely delicious; a little heavy on the oil, maybe, but it has excellent flavours and textures, and is served with a little avocado and some surprisingly good thin flour tortillas. A home run, and more than enough food to satisfy two hungry people; which makes its $18+ price a good value as well.The chips weren’t the best — good, but approaching the end of their prime life — but the salsa would have been in the top 5 in any Big City in the Southwest. The frozen margaritas are made individually, not out of a machine, but the bartender needs to keep them on the blender a little longer, until ALL the ice is converted to slush.The service was acceptable but spotty; nobody seemed to know whose table we were seated at. I like the food here. Green chile chicken burrito was bomb. Eat here each time I’m in Farmington.
The best Mexican food in Farmington! Love the Pork Chile Verde! And the freshest whole beans. Be sure and ask for them. Rice just like my tia used to make. The mole is good, but not the style I am used to. Go you’ll like it! Have a margarita!

Tequilas is the best , fiesta mexicana sucks si seor sucks 2 tequilas all the way it’s so good.
