This was my second visit. The food is still good. The place is still clean. The atmosphere is still excellent and the Service is still prompt and friendly.I had the bandito steak. Man, this was probably the best steak I’ve had in several years. It comes prepared with cheese, onions, and peppers smothered over top. This place is expensive but I’ll keep coming back.I do recommend they install some parking lot lights. It’s so dark that I’m afraid my car will get broke into.

Perfectly cooked steak, fresh well-prepared veggie option instead of potatoes, and a good wine list. Also great service.

Prices were higher than I expected from the information on the site. But we were delighted with the food and the service. We were seated immediately, the wait staff used iPads to take our orders and confirmed them before sending it. Food was very good and portion sizes were generous.

STAY AWAY!!!!!. Do not go to this restaurant!!! I got violently ill after being served dinner at the Badlands Grill. This restaurant ruined my vacation so don’t let it ruin yours. I called them after and told them what happened and the manager did not care at all. My experience with this place could not have been worse.

Best place to eat…..in Gallup. If this place was in a city much larger than Gallup I doubt it would ever make it, good thing it is in Gallup. I found myself a little more critical of this place than I would normally be, I assume that was due to the price they charge and image they convey. Their exterior and menu do create high expectations. So it’s really all about perceptive and what you compare this place too. I ordered the Teriyaki Sliders, which they suggest is a great meal for 2 people although they come with 3 sliders rather than an even amount of burgers. Nevertheless, the first few bites made for one of the best burgers I have ever had. So good it did not need any additional sauce (ie. ketchup, mustard, mayo). Just a bun, burger, crisp lettuce and tomato. Ohhhh it was fantastic. Now the bad news. These patties were really thick and one thing that gave them great flavor was the juiciness. The problem was that by the time I got half way through the second burger it had started to dry out. Starting the third burger it had become crunchy and dry and required some ketchup and/or mustard to soften it up. Not a big deal, but I would have love to have the last bit be as good as the first. The sweet potato fries tasted great but I guess I got the bottom of the bag as most of them were really small fry scraps. I also had a side of Mac and Cheese, recommended from another review, while they claim it was one of the best they have had and raved about the richness, I found it just alright. For 5 bucks I did expect it to be richer and cheesier. I found this one kind of runny. Again not bad just did not meet expectations. As for the service…well I’m assuming that the owner is really big on the food, as the menu is great but the service seemed like what you would expect after midnight at Denny’s. They weren’t bad or rude, they were just there. Always seemed like they were running around but the place was only a third full. Took forever to get a refill on my drink and considering the dryness of the burger that became frustrating. Nice selection on the menu, although the reason that I was drawn there was from the sign out front advertising their burgers. The problem was that they only have 2 burgers on the menu. The Teriyaki sliders that I ordered and a 1 pound stuffed burger. Would love to see a better burger selection. However at the end of the day, every time I am in Gallup I will probably go back there again and again and again. They do charge more than an Applebee’s so I will hold them to a higher standard but the food is more unique and arguably better than a typical chain store. So while I would never go there if it was in Albuquerque, Phoenix or a larger town it will be my favorite Gallup joint.

Steak was excellent, soup was a little bland, salad was just enough not to overfill, baked potatoe loaded was good.
