I didn’t like the place. Poor lighting, no one to welcome or ask questions to. Definitely not a family friendly place. Walked out without eating. Bad vibe.
Who wants to just sit and sip?. Went specifically for the Brat (on chalkboard/not menu) for the sauerkraut. Indeed it is tangy/sour/full bodied, being a great remembrance of the Kapusta my Babci and Matka would make. Whoa, the couple of days it would take to air-out the flat of its telltale aroma per its time of stewing and more so in winter! I recall both sliced the cabbage more finely tho. The Brat was fine, LOL, and the panini roll was just right in terms of crunch without annoying chewiness; a very ample supply of kettle chips.~ Had the Cumulus Wheat IPA which I think held its own in coming through with flavor to the sauerkraut!~ Despite my favoring of Louis Sullivans design dictum of Form follows Function which I think my choice of my first TV is classic: http://tinyurl.com/qb2j9uy i.e. it encapsulated the essentials without the big box/console look…I still prefer what some, e.g. the antidisestablishmentarians, might refer to as my fuddy-duddy ambiance of panelled walls/tufted, red leather…OK, vinyl…booths! Nevertheless, many Folks are obviously happy with functional as the dozen bar stools and dozen tables were almost full up with a melange of after-work(?) imbibers…mid-week! being attentively served.~ Alas, for Folks who might lament an out-of-the-way sentiment, let me share it only took me 8 minutes to get here…tee hee…from the Village of Los Ranchos! Before turning from Alameda onto the block to go on San Mateo, I could see I-25. Beyond that arent most places in ABQ about 15 minutes away? E.g. its 13 from 100 First NW according to Google! In any event, they are working on a site adjacent to the perennial Mannies at the foot/head of Nob Hill. (Geesh, it took me longer to compose/edit this than it took to get there!!! L@M!)Bottom line: a good Munchy for your Brewskie!Chow!
Excellent beer & the green chili stew is fantastic!!!
Great spot! Food was pretty good. Beer was great overall. Liked the ember IPA the best. Waitstaff was friendly and hilarious. Hard to find but definitely worth it!
Another great brewery it seems!. First time in on a Saturday afternoon we had two excellent beers: the Kindling Golden Ale and the Ember IPA. The Ale was perfectly crisp and fresh and the IPA is yet another stellar version for Abq beer lovers. We liked the simple decor–industrial but with some nice rustic wood accents at the bar and above. There was an interesting mixed crowd chilling out at the bar and the tables. We just wanted a snack and shared a tasty turkey panini with Gruyere cheese and chipotle garlic mayonnaise that came with a side of good Kettle chips; it hit the spot. Service was prompt and friendly.Need to go back soon and try a beer sampler and some other food.(If I recall, there were about six beers on the menu with an additional 4-6 beers on their specials board above the bar.)
It’s delicious and beers are great!!
Love this place, great beer, great snack food and wonderful service!
