Eat there twice now and by far the worst New Mexican food in Albuquerque, would not eat there again if it were free

The menu pictures do not display the current menu prices. Actual prices are a lot more expensive. With the new much smaller location also came smaller portions. Food is good, but not worth the price. Hand-written receipts are hard to read and understand what you are actually being charged. Dining area is very small and cramped. Perea’s is unfortunetly going down hill 🙁

After Reading All Of The reviews About Pereas We Decided To Give It A Try. Btw My Hubby And I Are Native New Mexicans And Love New Mexican Food. So We Came On A Saturday About 1:30 pm. The Decor Is Not That Nice On The Outside. So When We Walked In It Was A little Small. My Hubby And I Alway Say If The Salsa Is Good Then The Place Will Be Good. That’s Just between Us. So The Waitress Got Our Drinks Water And tea Then Comes Our Chips And Salsa And Omg The Chips Were So Stale And Old. So My Hubby Asked Another Waitress (Ours Disappeared)If We Could Get Fresh Chips She Threw Us A Dirty Look And Took Them To The Back And Then Our Waitress Came Back Like A Couple Of minutes Later with The Same Nasty Chips And Told Us she Just re-Warmed Our Chips. We didn’t Eat Them. Ok So We Ordered Our Food And I Got A Beef Stuffed Sopapilla With Red And Green. My Hubby ordered A Beef And bean burrito With red And Green Also. The Chile Is Ok Nothing Special The Refried Beans Were Disgusting They Must Have Been Refried Like 20 Times They Were Not Fresh At All. The Ground Beef Was Like Soggy Lke Oatmeal. The Only Thing Good About This Place Was the Sopapillas They Bring On The Side. I Would Not Recommend This Place To Anyone. We Will Never Go Back. If You Want FRESH NEW MEXICAN GREAT FOOD TRY SADIES, LOS COMPADRES, OR PADILLAS, OR SEREFINES. 🙂

Great Food. Just ordered the #4 burrito plate and the chili is delicious and the beans are to die for. I recommend this place to everyone that is looking for great NM food. All home made and so worth the price

ALL HOMEMADE! If you’re looking for atmosphere then this is definitely NOT a good choice. However, if you are looking for an amazing meal then this is your place!

Holy crap! Their food is seriously good. Refried beans were great, spanish rice was great, the beef and bean burrito also great. The green chile was hot, but just the right hot. Fantastic sopapillas and very good carne adovada. First time eating there was today for lunch. I will be going back.

Worst food ever. Great service. Chile sucks. Coffee and sopapilla were good. Food was way over priced. Queso was room temperature and concession stand nacho cheese instead of real cheese.
