A Classic. Honestly, its a great burger. The prices are also very good. It is a classic NM green chile burger. Meaning that it is green chile, and mustard not ketchup, or mayo. Because it is an institution of LC you are on their terms not yours. The prices and quality are great. The speed is not. You MUST call ahead or wait for ages. Also I recommend calling in your order and showing up 5-10 minutes before they say it will be done. Then eating it there. This is because the toppings are very cold (not a bad thing) and the burger sits on the table for a bit because it is a slower operation. So if you don’t eat it right then and there it will be cold within moments. Really it is a small sacrifice. Only last note, not sure why they don’t have some sort of ice bin in the front so they don’t have to walk to the back for every drink they fill. It very much slows down their operation. Really a great place, with a slightly backwards way. 8 out of 10. Oh sorry last thing, no bathroom??? How is that possible, I like to wash my hands before I eat. Strange.

The fries are reportedly cut fresh every morning, and they’re pretty good. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and a bit greasy. The real downside here is the excruciating wait for your food if you don’t order ahead. Plan to wait half an hour even when they’re not busy. The acoustics are loud so one noisy kid in the place makes it a miserable wait.

Worth the wait!. Very good green chili cheese burger and awesome fries! The wait is really long and frustrating but the quality of the food makes up for it for sure! I will be back here every time I’m in LC!
A Gem in Las Cruces. I go here ever once in a while for a great burger. The location is small and be warned that it takes a long time to get a burger–but it is worth the wait. The burgers, even down to making the patties is done to order. They do take call-ahead orders and this would be my recommendation if you are in a hurry. The food is reasonably priced, with a small burger priced at $.90. With all the dollar menu processed crap you can get these days, it’s nice to see that a small restaurant offering fresh home-made food can compete! I will say though that the last time I brought a group of friends with me here, one of my guests ordered a bean burrito and complained that not only did they mess up her order, but the beans were cold inside. With a 30 minute wait, she was not about to ask for it to be remade. Needless to say, she was unhappy. My suggestion is to stick to what the Burger Nook is known for and order one of their signature burgers, you will not be disappointed.
I have been going to Burger Nook for 33 yrs now I grow up with those two beautiful ladies that have made the best burgers anywhere in the states. I have raved for many years on there food. I have moved to Idaho, I have missed there food but one day I will return to Cruces to have the best burgers I have graved for 3 yrs now. I do not like Burger Nook, I LOVE Burger Nook!
