GOOD FROZEN CUSTARD AND GOOD HOT DOGSCaliche’s is a frozen custard outfit serving very good frozen custard and good Nathan’s hot dogs. The service is quick and personable and the pricing reasonable. There is no indoor dining but a few steel picnic tables out front and of course you can eat in the car or take the food away.I have tried their SUPER DOG and their PUCKER DOG as well as their SLAW DOG. The dogs are thick, juicy, and full of a beefy flavor. The green chile relish on the super dog gave it a real zip and the Texas chili made it a real good dog. The sauerkraut on the pucker dog was mild with not a strong flvor….but it does give the dog a crunch. The mustard gave it zing. The slaw dog was good as well.The banana split made with frozen custard was not as good as one made with a real quality ice cream, but it was a good split. I enjoyed it and I would buy it again.Restaurant rating = THREE-AND-A-HALF STARS…..meaning, better than your typical fast food joint. Good stuff but a limited menu. This is a high rating for a place with no indoor dining and a limited menu. If you enjoy frozen custard and good dogs…..this is your place. Will I return? Yes.

But I am on a quest to find the places that do still care about delivering good service, as well as good food.Caliche’s delivers both.Caliche’s frozen custard is delicious. The menu for lunch or dinner is limited, and there is no indoor dining. I enjoy their turkey croissants. I’ve never seen anyone working other than high school kids, but they are always friendly and professional. There’s a manager behind the scenes somewhere, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one. All the same, I can recommend Caliche’s wholeheartedly for both food and service.
Nice little custard shop
Loved it when was Scoopys. A little pricey for custard. Free pooch cones makes fun.
