Good start, downhill from there.. Ditto the good salad bar but everything after that was bad. Should of listened to the waitress when she asked if we wanted any flavor on our food. Save the time and visit somewhere else, at least the dog will be eating the last third of my rib eye.
Best Salad Bar in Town. Great salad bar, burgers are not bad, steaks so-so, prime rib ok but I’ve had far better. Rather expensive, but a nice establishment to dine in.
Once excellent catfish fillets…now fastfood bland fish strips…same price!!!. July 4,2014 my sister invites me to lunch,i sugest cattle baron we had been there for fathers day.well we both order our favorites,hers the beef kabobs w/salad bar,mine the fried catfish w/salad bar. could not believe when the fish strips arrived,i asked the waitress if there was a mistake on the order ,she said she forgot to inform me that management had changed the catfish fillets to fish strips .bad bad idea same as preformed fish strips at fastfood places for 2.99 bland and cheap!!!! never again!!!to bad,in the past always enjoyed the catfish fillets w/salad bar. will be going to redlobster next time!!! very disapointed in las cruces cattle baron
Dry burger, wet plates. Big dissapointment. Atmosphere – B+Service – CSalad Bar – C variety of offerings, nothing super special; soup luke warm but flavorful.Burgers – two of our guests ordered the same burger prepared differently; the waiter that served the meals gave the medium to the person who ordered the medium-rare burger, and vice-versa. It was too late by the time it was discovered and the Asst Mgr did little to correct the error. She offered dessert on the house after much contemplation. The burgers should have been comp’d. The burgers were dry, the buns barely toasted and already on the way to being stale. The toasted bread rounds at the salad bar were stale!Cattle Baron was a big dissapointment for our first, and only visit. We won’t be back.
SUPER SALAD BAR – SUPER STEAKS. Cattle Baron has one of the finest salad bars that I have ever seen. And the Steaks were very good. Prices are very reasonable. And the service was just SUPER. I wished that my hometown had a Cattle Baron Steak & Seafood.

Just OK!. The first thing was the wait staff. They didn’t seem to be enjoying themselves and it showed on their faces. The highlight was the salad bar (all you can eat at $7.95). My chicken Oscar was over cooked and very expensive. Most steak places in LC are having a tough time serving good food. I wonder if the economy has squeezed these restaurants to serve cheap ingredients because it shows. Everything cost more in the west because of shipping costs.
