NOT ONE OF YOUR BETTER CHINESE RESTAURANTSIf you spend much time researching internet reviews you know that the reviews for the Chinese Kitchen are all over the place. Many give it one star and some give it five! This is just plain crazy. What is one to believe? Want some sanity, a realistic appraisal? Read on:This restaurant is a smallish, casual, seat yourself place. While it appears reasonably clean and there is ample light inside, it is not an impressive or really comfortable spot for dining. This is not a place for a special occasion to say the least. If you want ambiance of any kind….go somewhere else. The service always seems to be provided by two women, one an oriental woman I presume to be the owner. When I’ve dined at this restaurant I never seem to get a follow up by the waitresses. The owner in particular seems a bit cold. While the service is not unfriendly it seems to be nothing more than the minimum required.Regarding the food I’ve had at this restaurant: I had chicken in plum sauce which was light on the chicken but it had an overload of big slices of onion. Not an impressive meal. I once had a combo meal of sweet-n-sour pork and shrimp. The pork and shrimp had so much thick batter covering them that it was like eating a cake donut. Terrible. I once ordered beef in plum sauce and found it fairly good. The KUNG PAO SHRIMP I had most recently was a good dish for the money; the portion was large and the meal well prepared. The flavor was subtle but it was not spicy enough. Not a bad dish but nothing to write home about.Bottom line: the people who think this is great Chinese are delusional. The food preparation is uneven. Some food is ok and other dishes not so good. But, to say this is a one star restaurant is inaccurate. It is ok in a pinch if Chinese is a must and you don’t want to drive anywhere else. The folks who hang out here do so because it is cheap and the lunch specials are a good deal for the buck. Service….basic and not so good. Food….below average generally….but sometimes not too bad.Restaurant rating…..either TWO-AND-THREE-QUARTER or THREE STARS……meaning, quite mediocre to maybe slightly below the norm. Well, let’s give it three stars. Take that to the bank and forget all the other crap you’ll see on the web. Will I return to dine here? Maybe not. I have probably given it my last shot.

Worst customer service EVER!!. I believe the owner took our order, she was super impatient and rude when we asked for more time to look over the menu. We ordered water first then soda w our food, when we payed she flipped out accusing us of trying to rip her off the whole .80 cents for our drinks. Very unprofessiona!!l I will NEVER go back!!

Worst Chinese food ever, what a nightmare. Horrible service! Food was awful. This restaurants version of Lo Mein is ramen noodles, and their rice tastes like generic rice a roni. We ordered take out, and soon realized when we got home there was no shrimp in the Lo Mein, just a mound full of cabbage on top of the noodles. Two other items we recieved were not what we ordered. I proceeded to call and let the know the order was wrong, the owner got on the phone immediately calling me a liar, and hung up…end of story. Horrible! Live and learn!
Delicious, freshly made Chinese food! Sesame chicken and egg foo young are to die for!
