WHILE THE FOOD MAY NOT BE BAD……..FOR THE OVERALL DINING EXPERIENCE….RATE IT FIFTY-SIXTH IN LAS CRUCES AMONG MEXICAN FOOD RESTAURANTS.This restaurant opened around November 2016 at the corner of Solano and Madrid. The menu features grilled chicken al carbon, chicken and al pastor burritos, tacos, and burgers. Not much more. If you like a lot of options you won’t find many here.Inside you’ll find hardwood booths and tables. The ambiance is very casual and the customer base is neighborhood Hispanics. Some of the staff speak little English. From my experience the folks running the restaurant have little experience in the restaurant business. The service I found confused and inefficient. Don’t expect to find comfortable or pleasant dining here. This is for the most casual dining only.I will not go into all the problems with the restaurant or the service I encountered upon my visit: suffice it to say that neither the service nor the atmosphere was pleasing.Overall, I found the food to be fairly good. The chips were good and the red salsa was as well….with a nice heat level and good flavor. The al pastor burrito was packed with meat and the flavor was good. The charro beans had onion and cilantro mixed in and they were really good. The grilled chicken had a nice char and a really unique flavor….I believe it was the use of cumin that made it special. But, I did not appreciate having to eat all the food with my fingers. When I went to pay I was casually overcharged and never given a check or receipt. What to expect if you go: Overall pretty good food but the negatives of dining here outweigh the positive nature of the food.MEXICAN FOOD RATING = TWENTY to THIRTY RANGE……..MIDDLE LEVEL TO MAYBE MAKING IT INTO THE UPPER THIRTY PERCENT RANGE.Restaurant rating = TWO STARS…….not a place I can recommend unless you can put up with a lot.
