A NOISY SPORTS BAR WITH DECENT FOOD, BUT FOR DINING….NOT SO GREAT.Ahhh, Hooters. What can ya say? It’s bright and clean with tv’s everywhere, lots of noise and people having fun. But, for dining, this is not a comfortable place. There are numerous high tables with high bar stools which are extremely uncomfortable. The ambiance is ok if you don’t mind noise, don’t mind being uncomfortable on those high stools, don’t mind waitresses paying more attention to the young guys drinking a lot, and don’t mind paying more than the food is worth. The menu is a bit narrow….wings, burgers, and beer. The place tries to nickle-and-dime you to death. Want fries with that burger? Pay extra. Want bacon on that burger? Pay extra. You get the point. The service is ok but of course the young ladies pay more attention to those guys drinking lots of beer and giving the impression that they pay big tips. The food at Hooters is average to slightly above a fast food joint. But, it is a sports bar so don’t expect haute cuisine. I sampled their Western BBQ Burger which had a nicely seasoned patty, so-so bacon, and tasteless onion rings on it. The small side of potato salad was ok….nothing special. The curly fries were not very good….not cooked enough and somewhat tasteless. Arby’s puts out a better product. The wings were good, especially the breaded wings. Overall, I found the food at Hooters decent (better than Micky D’s) but uneven. But, this is one of those places where, when you finish your meal, you feel like you just got fleeced. I thought I paid more than the quality of the meal warranted. But, I guess the food quality and dining comfort are not the primary reasons some folks like to go to Hooters. What to expect if you go: A clean, bright place, a nice but noisy atmosphere, good looking chicks, a narrow sports bar menu, pricing designed to gouge you, and food that is ok; nothing great but nothing too bad. Only certain types hang out there on a regular basis.Restaurant rating…..THREE-AND-A-QUARTER STARS….meaning, for the overall dining experience, just a tad over a fast food joint…..not so great. If you like to drink and look at babes….that’s something else again. The Game, Farley’s, and BWW have a bigger menu and better food. Will I return to dine? Doubt it. Not my thing.

NOISY SPORTS BAR, DECENT FOOD, BUT KIND OF A RIP-OFF!.Ahhh Hooters. What can I say? Its bright and clean with TV’s everywhere. Lots of noise and people having fun. Numerous tables and lots of wooden bar stools. The bar stools are extremely uncomfortable. Give the ambiance a B…if you don’t mind noise. If you don’t like noise give the ambiance a C. Comfort of the stools….a D. Try to avoid them. The menu is somewhat narrow…wings and burgers and beer for the most part. This place tries to nickel-and-dime you to death. Want fries? Pay extra. Want ranch or bleu cheese with your wings? Pay extra. Want bacon or whatever on your burger? Pay extra. You get the point. The service is generally pretty good, but of course the young ladies pay more attention to the types who are buying a lot of beer. Give the service a B. The food is average to slightly above. When last there I sampled the Western BBQ Burger. The burger itself was quite good. The bacon on it was fair, the onion rings on it were tasteless, and the bun was nothing special. This burger rates about a B to B minus….meaning slightly above average to good. The smallish serving of potato salad was fair. Rate it a B minus. The curly fries our party ordered were not very good…not done enough and having no taste to speak of. Give those fries a C minus….a complete waste of money. Arby’s has much better. The wings were quite good, especially the breaded ones. They seemed to soak up the BBQ sauce which was itself better than average. Rate these Hooter’s wings a B+. They were the best part of the meal. The beer seemed reasonably priced. All-in-all, if you don’t mind the noise, this place is ok to grab some grub and beer, but everything seems a buck or two over-priced. At the end of the meal you leave with that feeling that you paid more than you should have for the quality you received. I alway seem to feel that way when I leave a Hooters. Rate the overall dining experience THREE-AND-A-HALF STARS…..in other words, just a little bit above average. Not terrible (as internet reviewers would say, but nothing special.)BOTTOM LINE: WILL I RETURN TO DINE HERE? PROBABLY NOT. NOT MY THING.
