ENJOYABLE JAPANESE FOOD AT THE MALL FOOD COURTFirst off, keep in mind that Sansei Japanese Cuisine has over time outlasted every other food court place in the mall. Many have come and gone, but Sansei still stands after all the dust of battle has cleared. There obviously is a reason. Service, efficiency, and food quality for the cost come to mind.The first time I tried this place a number of years ago it was better than I thought it would be. Located at the mall food court….step up to the counter and order. They offer a limited menu: a tiny selection of sushi (which I’ve never tried) and several teriyaki grill selections. You can order chicken, shrimp, or beef teriyaki over noodles or rice. Most folks seem to order the hot teriyaki meals hot off the grill as opposed to the sushi. The people working the grill really hustle if busy and always do a good job. When your food is cooked it is piled into a styrofoam tray and the price is always very modest. Portions are large. Lots of veggies.I usually order the COMBO MEAL with both chicken and shrimp. I usually get it with the noodles…..cost about $8.00. The chicken has a nice grilled flavor but it is, as you might expect, not the highest quality chicken. It is ok. The medium-sized shrimp are meaty. There are multiple vegetables included with the meal….carrot, broccoli, onions, cabbage, etc. The SERVINGS ARE LARGE. The food overall is pretty tasty. For fast food this is upper echelon.In May 2019 I ordered the combo with noodles, chicken, and beef. All was tasty. The spicy version was quite hot.What to expect if you go: Quick service if they are not too busy, very reasonable pricing, and very tasty food cooked to order. A lot of good food at a good price.Restaurant rating =THREE-AND-A-HALF STARS….meaning, pretty good for fast food. An above average dining experience when all is considered.
