Not Authentic. I tried the #5 combo that included enchilada, taco, chile relleno, beans and rice… the red chile is not home made; its obviously bought from a can. The beans are good, the chile relleno was alright, but the overall experience is not authentic. I would venture to say that most of the food here is not home made. I was highly disappointed especially since I just moved to the area, but come from a traditional mexican family… this is no where near the caliber mexican food should be at this close to the mexican border. This can pass out of state, but not here in NM so close to traditional mexican cuisine.
One of our must stop places when we visit Las Cruces. Good green chile bowl and enchiladas! I love the green salsa, but my wife says it’s too spicy for her. Wish we could this cheaply in Phoenix!
Never Again!. I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner at this place several times. Food on the average is OK. I have a business just around the corner from the place and often send my customers over to have some thing to eat while the are waiting on my services. I do this several times a week to promote local business. I ordered an 8.00 lunch special today as take out and was shocked at what they tried to pass off as lunch. I was so diappointed in what I was served that I had to let them know if what they served me was what they felt there food should represent. Sadly the answer was yes. I will never send one of my customers over there again, nor will I support the business again.
Meh. We went for lunch. Greasy chips, gratuitously hot green sauce, and so so entrees. Good whole beans though.
If this was a mexican experience, I wasnt impressed. Never had a tamale, must say, not bad, but nothing special. The tortilla is made from Mazas, filled with pork and cooked in a corn husk, and has a rustic taste to it. I had this topped with chile con carne and I think that the most striking thing about this was the texture. Everything was pulled or roughly cut into generous chunks which uncoils imagine being hand made in mothers kitchen. An enchilada, tamale, taco, and chile relleo stuffed with cheese. Again, nothing mind blowing about this dish, but a couple things I notices were the hand made tortillas as well as the hot pocket style on the chile. Again nothing special, just a nice presentation. All in all, I was hoping for more of a mexican experience, but I’m still haven’t found a difference between this and Tex Mex
Good local atmosphere. Known for their red tamales and tacos. Salsa and suaces on the spicey side. If you order enchiladas get it with onion and a fried egg. Definately not your california enchilada. Dessert empanadas tasted store bought, more like a turnover then an empanada.
