ONE OF THE TOP SPORTS BARS IN LAS CRUCES FOR REAL DININGThe Game on Espina near the university is a real nice sports bar for dining. Inside there is a small bar area but the restaurant is broken up into various rooms with very comfortable chairs and furniture. Outside is a sizable outdoor eating and drinking area with lights when it is dark. The Game on Espina DOESN’T SEEM AS STERILE AS THE GAME II OUT ON NORTHRISE. The service at the Game I have always found to be upper level….quite good. Don’t believe anyone who tells you otherwise. This is a clean, comfortable, and friendly place to dine.The menu is diverse and features a nice selection of options from burgers, to wings, chicken dishes, salads, soups, nachos, lots of draft beer, quesadillas, chicken and steak wraps, club sandwiches, hot dogs, Philly’s, fries, onion rings, steak dinners, steak tampiquenia, meatloaf, cherry and peach cobbler, cheese cake etc. All good stuff. Prices are a bit on the higher side.The Game’s Home Run Burger and their Corked Bat Burger with the Game’s fabulous smoked sweet pepper bacon are among the best burgers in Las Cruces. Exceptional. The chicken wings are excellent….especially love the special house green chile sauce on the wings. Very hot but so good. I had their southwestern pecan encrusted chicken dish which was also very good. For dining on real food….this is one of the best sports bars. Most of the time when I go to the Game I seem to end up with the wings and burgers. So good.What to expect if you go: A friendly, comfortable place with good service, a nice selection of food and generally very good food. If things are not right they will make it right.Restaurant rating = FOUR-AND-A-QUARTER STARS……meaning, you’ll have a very good overall experience. Will I return? Yes.
The Game is possibly one of the best places to hang out in Las Cruces. Being right across from NMSU, naturally it’s where the students and staff like to go. It’s also the only Aggie themed sports bar that I know of. I recommend the green chile wings. Absolutely delicious. And so is the Corked Bat: green chile strips breaded with pecans and served with ranch dressing to dip. Great beer selection, too.
