SOLID PLACE FOR BREAKFAST AND LUNCHSure it’s a chain. Sure it’s one of those places…..like I Hop, Denny’s, Bob Evans, Perkins, etc. So, there will be people out there just waiting to spew their venom. Well, get a life. This place isn’t bad. The Village Inn serves a variety of food so everything, obvioulsy, can’t be great. Right? But most of the food I’ve had at the Village Inn has been pretty good. They also feature freshly baked cakes and pies for take home. You can order them ahead of time for a special occasion…..and they don’t cost a fortune like at some other specialty shops. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The service has always been above average when I’ve been there, but they do get quite busy at times and service may be a little delayed. No complaints. The waitresses seem to handle the crowd well.I tried their CHICKEN FRIED STEAK SCRAMBLER and found the steak and gravy quite good; nothing to rave about but good. The hash browns were superior to many I’ve had in other restaurants. Nothing to brag about but pretty good. The scrambled eggs with peppers and onions were ok. The dish overall was good but nothing to write home about. The pancakes I found a bit dense; not light and fluffy like those I had at I Hop. Overall, however, I prefer this restaurant to I Hop.What to expect if you go: An open and comfortable, clean, and often busy restaurant, overall pretty good service, a broad menu and reasonable pricing. The food as you might expect from a place with a large and diverse menu has its ups and downs. Overall, the food is pretty good but no one would mistake it for exceptional.Restaurant rating = THREE-AND-THREE-QUARTER STARS….meaning, well above average for the overall dining experience. Will I return to dine here? Yeah, once in a while.
Ate here for breakfast when traveling through and it was great! The Denver omelet was very tasty, but when you put some of their homemade salsa on top, it was awesome! That salsa is probably the best I have ever had!
Awesome service! They served great portions for the price. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and offered good suggestions. Ate off the breakfast menu and was very impressed. I will eat here again!
The salads are usually fresh. The service is good. We eat here often.
HAPPY CUSTOMER. I much prefer the Village Inn on S. Telshor than the one on El Paseo. The times I went to the one on S. Telshor I was always satisified with everything about the restaurant.
