Our Favorite Restaurant. We fell in love with Los Cuates 30 years ago when we lived on the east side; now we’ve moved to the west side, and to our delight, so has Los Cuates, The staff is always friendly, never make you feel rushed. And the food is the best New Mexican cuisine.

Updated review 2014. My original 2013 rating for Los Cuates was a positive one, but after dining there on 3/21/2014, my rating is now very NEGATIVE. A lot has changed in one year; their menu, price increase, portion decrease, cooks. In addition–their dining room was dead. Last year it was packed! The first time I went, I had the tilapia fish tacos. I ordered the same thing on my last visit because, even though I wanted to try something different, I was discouraged by a confusing & overpriced menu. I remembered being happy before with the fish taco plate so simply decided to go with it again. The food came out pretty quickly & I was immediately taken aback by the portion cuts (They literally cut their portion sizes in half!) & GREASY corn tortilla taco shells. They used to heat & double up the corn tortillas so that you’d get two non-greasy corn tortillas per taco. Now you just get one greasy fried corn tortilla per taco. YUCK! The tilapia was also greasy, tough & old. So old in fact that it looked grey from being reheated so much. Our waiter only brought out one order of sopaipillas even though my husband & I were both supposed to get some.Los Cuates deserves to lose customers; you can’t raise prices, cut food quality & portion sizes & still expect to keep people coming in to eat. Where’s Gordon Ramsey? Your restaurant needs him!
This was my second attempt to enjoy some New Mexican food and again I was highly disappointed. The service was HORRIBLE our server was rude and distracted, for being 2 in the afternoon I fit see why there was maybe 4 other tables. There was no one there to sit us . Prices for food weren’t that great given the quality and portion! I won’t recommend this I’d rather have a chain restaurant!
Go elsewhere.. I have been here a few times.. Service was great. Food..ok. Tell the GM? If he pays the same amount of attention to his customers as he does his phone.. It would be nice to see. I then found out that the food is processed outside the establishment, in a factory by the airport. So your not paying for fresh food, or even cooked! It’s reheated! Might as well go to the store, buy canned beans and beef with chile. Throw it in your microwave and take money out of your bank account and you end up with Los Cuates food!! I’ll never go back here again!! Keep warming up precooked food and stealing money from your guest for it!
Huge portions.. Stopped by for happy hour a couple of weeks ago. The changes are nice and the bar is pretty sharp. We ordered the small nachos and they were ridiculously large. Enough for 4 people to share! We had a couple of beers and the nachos and got out of there for only $12 and the nachos won. Worth a visit at happy hour.
Great. This Los cuates location is by far the best. I am not sure what they do different from the others but the food was amazing. I had the blue corn enchiladas and was upset I couldn’t finish them, there was just too much food. The sopapillas were hot and fresh. Keep it up Los Cuates!
