The service is god awful and the good is way over priced for how truly mediocre it is.
Appetizers were excellent. Service was great. It was a Saturday afternoon and the waitstaff was very attentive. Booths even have outlets in case you want to be productive with your beer. Speaking of beer, the selection is very good. Lots of NM beers as well as many other craft selections.
Terrible Manners!. In Los Alamos the eating establishments are very limited. So when the Brewpub opened up I was excited that there was a place that we could have dinner and drinks. I averaged a trip a week from the time they opened to now. The food was good but a little overpriced, and the service was almost always terrible. I just assumed most of the problems I was having, not receiving drinks, getting wrong orders, or waiting 20 plus minutes for our bill were just growing pains. However, my experience last night was beyond rude and I will not be going to this establishment again. My husband, my 5 year old, and I were with a group totaling 11 people. Some of our party got there early to ensure that we would get a table because the place tends to get really packed around dinner time. Our friends arrived at 4:45 and were seated. My husband and I were running behind because of work and arrived a little after 5:00. All the while our friends were calling us asking us to hurry, because they were trying to take seats and tables away from our party. We arrived and Janet our waitress (WHO IS GREAT! The only person I can vouch for there) got us drinks and menus right away. Before I even got my drink they asked us to move tables so they could break our tables up for other customers. We obliged them, even though they moved us to another set of tables pushed together, which didnt really make sense. Our party all ordered appetizers, drinks (BEER and Cocktails not tea or soda), salads and entrees. We all spent a great deal of money in there that night. After two of our party goers left they came and asked to take another table from us, at this point there wasnt a significant wait at the door any longer. As we all started to finish and pay our bills and leave we noticed the part owner working that night and the hostess eyeing our table again. Our friends ordered one last beer while my husband and I decided to leave. After we left, a party of 7 came into the pub, the hostess came and said, There is a party of 7 waiting, could you please hurry it up, even though they only had a few drinks of their beers to finish. After being asked for a 3rd time to move our friends asked them to let them finish their beers in peace and we would be on our way. They owner then became very angry and got into an altercation with a friend of ours and told him to leave right away. This was after we had paid and tipped. I have never been asked to move tables in a restaurant unless it was under some type of extreme situation. Furthermore Ive been to restaurants where Ive been turned away because they had no tables available or I choose to leave because the wait is too long. That in my opinion is just part of going out to eat. The party of 7 could have easily waited a few minutes to get their table, but asking us to move for a 3rd time seemed unreasonable to me. Plus they have issues with coasters. They insist on putting coasters under every drink even though there is a thick lacquer on the tables and place mats.
So glad we have a nice pub in Los Alamos. Love the atmosphere and the food. Only kink is being seated. While we were there other guests who arrived after us basically cut in front of us claiming that they were with larger parties that were already seated. Other than a hostessing issue the beer, cocktails, and customer service were wonderful. I highly recommend eating here, but be prepared in the evenings to wait.
Good start, needs some fine tuning. As mentioned before, the beer selection is great and shows signs of growing. The owner is around every time I have come and will make sure you are satisfied. The food depending on what you eat could use some work.Mostly the food needs stronger flavor. The flavor is there but not used to full potential. But I have faith things will improveThis is a needed and over due addition to Los Alamos
Can’t really comment on the food but the beer selection is fantastic and very fairly priced. Has been consistently crowded while I’ve been there but but things seem to be running smoothly and the service has been great. Glad to have this place in Los Alamos.
