Used to be much better. I am very sad to say that El Camino Dining Room has gone down considerably. I used to love it. It used to be one of my favorite restaurants. The past THREE times I have eaten there the food was very bad. Greasier than it used to be. Watery chile with no taste. Food overcooked. The first two times I figured they were going through new cooks or management. After the third strike, never again. 🙁

My mother and I stopped in here for lunch, and that will be a first and last for us. The red chile was the best thing about the meal, and it was ok, at best. The green was just not good. Service was slow, and we had to ask for straws about three times before finally getting them. Sopapillas tasted like they were made from a mix. Our table had a problem with flies constantly buzzing around us. All in all, not worth the trip to the Valley for this place.

Best New Mexican Food in Albuquerque. El Camino Dining Room is full of great New Mexican Flavor. The chili is homemade and has great flavor. My family has been eating at this local historical treasure for years. It is family owned and they make you feel like extended family. When you first walk in the door, the owners greet you. Great customer service. We waited only 10 minutes for our breakfast. From our table you can see the cooks making your food. There is always a table for you to sit at as soon as you arrive. Families continue to eat at the El Camino because it is good food, good people and you always see a friend.

Turned Terrible. We used to be regulars at El Camino until the last two times we went there and the food and service were absolutely terrible. The first time they put food on the plate that was not ordered and then we said that we did not order it they just told us to eat around it. Really!!! The last time was the final straw. We went for breakfast and order food. After waiting almost at hour, they were not busy, we finally got our food. They brought us the wrong food and just offered an excuse they were busy the night before. The food was completely wrong and did not even bother to correct it for us. If you come to Albuquerque avoid at all cost. Not even worth the time or effort! There are much better places to eat, such as Duran’s Pharmacy.

Gone Downhill. Used to be a regular, now, service is scary. Watch out! Violent owners.

My Last Visit. This is my first post and I want to be fair, but my experience at this North Valley diner was worth writing about. The service was above average. The hot fresh tortilla chips were excellent, and the green chili stew was tasty. My wife ordered the huevos rancheros and I ordered 3 rolled chicken enchilada with home fries and an extra order of Sopapillas. My wife’s meal looked great and she liked it. The enchiladas were below average. They were dry, tasted like canned chicken was used, and lacked the traditional green chilli enchilada flavor. I requested a side of green chilli which looked like pea soup and tasted extremely bland (a photo attached). The home fries..well ..I had a bite… added salt, another bite… didn’t eat any more. I grabbed a sopa.. it was hard.. too hard to chew. My wife demo the sopa hardness to the server by tapping it on a plate… the server didn’t appear to be concerned she adjusted the check and returned it minus the extra sopas. While checking out no one ask how our meal was…

Great food, great price, great people. Im a first time customer from southern california that just moved in the area 2 weeks ago and just so happened to stubble upon this little family ran restaurant and enjoyed myself a good breakfast w/ drinks at a very fair price. the workers were all very friendly. there’s not too many places that can give you that heart felt welcome to our home feeling. i recommend this place to everyone… if any of the workers there read this. thanks for the ride. you’ll all be seeing me around.
