Hip dining area, friendly service, and good (hearty, greasy, gut-busting) food. The cream puffs are the size of a football, but I saw them serve one sliced, so I guess it is possible to fit it in your mouth that way.
Checked this place out finally after 5 years of living here . my family was in town for my graduation and we met up here. The beers offered on draft were from local breweries which was cool . I tried the Lobo club sandwich with green chile on the side and parmesan truffle oil fries mmm. My husband ordered the DDD meatloaf and opted for mashed potatoes and fries instead of the Brussel sprouts or broccoli. the rest of my family got the burgers and ordered them med rare. The waiter was on the drinks and offered good insight to any questions we had. everything was filling and we left happy.
Meat loaf is amazing! Parking can be hard to find sometimes but its worth the extra effort.Don’t forget to try the desserts here. Simply divine.
Everything Just OKWe went for a bit of a late dinner, arriving at 8:15pm. The place was very quiet and it appeared like folks were starting closing-up duties. The menu isnt overly large yet has several nice options. I got the beer can chicken which was moist and nice, but nothing to rave about since there appeared to be very little seasoning in the cooking. It was nice that the vegetable was a large serving of Brussel sprouts. Another had the tomato soup which was blandish and unmemorable. We also got a couple of OK salads.Except for the soup, everything was OK but Ill have forgotten about the place in a week or so.
The food is really good here. It’s overpriced in my opinion. It’s an upper class restaurant but kind of laid back. Parking is really bad there because it’s limited.
Great service. Friendly staff. The Firebird Burger was amazing! The Black, Bleu and Fried Burger was exceptional as well, although we might opt for a mellower cheese next time.
The food at the Standard Diner is pretty delicious. I explained to the staff that I needed to eat gluten free and my server helped identify which items on the menu would be safe for me. There weren’t very many options available, so I ordered a salad. Sadly, when my salad arrived it was covered with giant croutons. I explained to my server that I had order this salad gluten free and that it’s obviously not gluten free with the giant bread crumbs. I informed them that because of my medical condition, even trace amounts can make me violently ill and asked for them to remake the salad. They were able to accommodate me, but by the time I had received my salad, everyone at the table was already finished eating their meals. Though they were able to help me find something to eat, I wish they would carry a gluten free menu or clearly identify which items are gluten free or how they could be made gluten free. I also wish they would further train both their servers and their cooks about gluten, cross-contamination, how to avoid it and ensure that a gluten free meal stays gluten free. I wish they would address this on their menu and carry more gluten free options.
