Lengua. There are very few places where you can find lengua (cow’s tongue) anymore. If you haven’t tried it, you really should. It is one of the best cuts off the cow. Once know as peasant food, now sold at a premium at the grocery store.03 Nov, 2014As close to Mom’s cooking as I can find away from home. This restaurant is hand’s down the best Mexican food in Abq. They are consistent with their meals each and everytime. The prices are reasonable and the staff are incredibly accomodating and friendly. Their menu is complete too. Just about anything that you might want to find at a homestyle restaurant while traveling in Mexico, will be found at Taqueriq Mexico. Their fried fish is delightful, the coctel de camarones is amazing, and all colors of chile you might want, can’t be beat. I recommend that you try it – you can’t go wrong. Oh, make sure to call ahead if possible. It is not Abq’s best kept secret anymore and you might need to wait in line a little while if you hit the rush in the morning or at noon.
Had to add this. So I had one big ass burrito I’m taking and I did a sorry job of trying to put the thing back together the staff noticed and took it from me back to the cook who asked how the meal was whole I checked out , told him he was a food god. He laughed. They put my burrito with three bites in a new tortilla re wraped it put it in a bag with their great hot sauce and napkins. Name another resturant that does that????? Very few. These guys are great.21 Aug, 2014This place is cool, very busy and small. But smells amazing. The waitress was fast able to give a few recommendations and friendly. Like I said its small. 8 tables and a booming business. Tried lunch and forget it at noon. Have to get here early. Tea cup was like home Texas size and light on the ice. Prices look to be pretty affordable I just hope I didn’t order too much. Got the barbacoa burrito and the burrito a la mexicana. It’s close quarters in a older building that is not much to look at. But the crowds don’t lie. It location make it a big lunch spot a bit easier to get a seat at dinner but still busy. Pretty clean with an open kitchen and no frills. Oh damn. I ordered way to much. Things are huge!!! I love barbacoa and these guys kicked Some butt. Outstanding. I cut the rice from mine and there was so much meat I scarfed it down and had room for only a few bites of the other. The Mexican was good as well like the first better. Mexican has steak beans cheese japs and cilantro. Real good. This is a must try. One burito is plenty FYI. Just a fun hole in the wall with outstanding food. Crowds don’t lie. I’m coming back while I’m here this week!!!!
Best Fish Tacos!. Great food. Great Service. Great prices.Once I discovered this place, I became a repeat customer. With prices so affordable and large portions, who wouldn’t want to come back? The best part? Everything is made fresh in their restaurant. It’s a very small hole in the wall that fills up quickly during lunch. But I’ve never minded if I was asked to wait for a table. If you can’t wait, they have a convenient window in the front for to-go orders. My absolute favorite thing here is their fish tacos. But before I get into that, I want to make it clear that EVERYTHING I’ve had here is absolutely DELICIOUS! But the fish tacos are made with perfectly crispy fish, fresh tomatoes, onions and lettuce. Absolutely perfect and three always seem just to be the right number. Their salsa is tasty and they somehow always have the most juicy limes I’ve encountered! I’ve never left this place feeling as if I didn’t get my moneys worth. Very delicious and the service is great!
Best Taco Stand in Albuquerque. Best tortas, taquitos, and tacos in Albuquerque. I’m from SoCal and this place is just as good as the quickie joints there. I really like the take-out window. When I first walked up to the restaurant and saw a line at the take-out window I knew it was going to be good.
This place is owned by a family and they all work the business. Their food and service is very consistent, I can honestly say I always like my food when I go. Their chips and salsa are the best! The torta de asada is so delicious, my favorite of all places! This hole in the wall is truly one of the best Mexican restaurants in albuquerque
Fantastic. I spent years living in Mexico and I can testify that this is authentic Mexican food! The horchata is hands down the best I have ever tasted. Their tortas are amazing, their barbacoa is out of this world. Ya gotta try!
Let down. I used to love this place. I my favorite was the fluta plate. I would also order the guacamole with the chips. and the salsa is so good. but the last time I went there was so disappointed. The food we ordered was not what I ordered. The service was not what I was used to. I can understand if there new people working there. but it was the same people that are always there.
