While in Albuquerque for the Balloon festival I like to try different local cuisine, and this place was excellent. The atmosphere and service was great. The food was great and reasonable prices, had the shrimp wrapped in bacon stuffed with crab and whitefish (don’t remember the menu name) just the right spice. Buddy had the tapitias (little too much lettuce for his liking), but said the flavor was spot on. Appetizer was good, they were like little Mexican egg rolls with shredded chicken, came with guacamole and chili con queso on the side. Good cerveza selection, would also recommend the Roadrunner drink. Will definitely be on my list the next time in Albuquerque.

We eat here at least once a week, every time I try something new, it always exceeds my expectations! We are bar patrons and the hospitality at the bar is unmatched. I definitely give them a solid 5 rating,

Absolutely the worst , ordered red chili brought me green. Ordered beef brought me chicken. Red chili tasted like tomato sauce. If you love New Mexico food DO NOT go here. They should be embarrassed to call this food Mexican or New Mexican because it is neither. Avoid this this place– trust me

Outstanding Carne Adovada! My fianc and I moved to ABQ 3 months ago and are learning to enjoy NM cuisine. My favorite, so far, is Carne Adovada and order it whenever I can. Of the numerous Mexican/New Mexican restaurants where we’ve eaten in various parts of the state, Papa Felipe’s Carne Adovada is the BEST! I especially like it with both red AND green chiles – simply delicious. The service is quick and everyone is treated like a welcomed old friend. Thanks for that!

Excellent food. Ordered the carne adovada and the meat was tender and fresh. Also had the blood orange margarita. It was good but not as good as all these reviews hype it up to be.

Best NM flavors, perfectly seasoned sauces. Don’t know how you could get much more perfect than the margaritas I had here. This has homemade style New Mexican food & it is obvious the couple times I’ve stopped in, the chef knew what he was doing. Nothing was canned or plasticized; I could spot that a mile away. I think that was some character’s sour grapes. This is the best authentic New Mexican food in town. Better food quality and more perfectly seasoned sauces than some of the higher priced places that leave you feeing when you see the bill like you weren’t originally planning on buying stock in the place. I doubt that more than 2 restaurants in town serve GREEN adobada; it’s fantastic. If you’re a green fan, order this in your enchiladas, burritos, whatever. And if you’re cold, the green chile chicken chowder will warm you right up with huge chunks of white meat chicken in white chowder. Never had a sit down meal here that wouldn’t blow most places out of the water. It’s like walkin in to your Gramma’s; it’s authentic, it’s homey and you leave feeling all’s right with the world. If taste matters to you, here ya go!

Good Stuff. If my picky 78yo Spanish aunt likes it, you know its good. We have always had a good experience. Food is always stove hot and flavorfull. Like Papa’s and many other old New Mexico faviorites I would suggest doing a deep cleaning. Yes I do notice those spider web up high, last years chile splash on the walls and so on. I do notice the wait staff does chatter a little too loud, you can hear it in the dining room. Not a deal breaker, we’ll be back.
