Where’s the Pizza?. Il Vicino is known for their pizza, so when we heard that the Animal Humane kickoff party was going to be at the Canteen, we were excited to eat pizza. We got there… no pizza. We aren’t beer drinkers so we looked at the menu to find something other than pizza. Was told there wasn’t enough room for pizza at this location. I do have to say the sandwiches we had were tasty but not being beer drinkers and wanting pizza from Il Vicino, we probably won’t return.
Good beer, service…meh?
Absolutely love the Canteen – wonderful beer and good food. Have recently been very disappointed in the quality of the service, though. Server took far too long to take and fill orders, even when the place was not busy at all.
Love it!. Definately a favorite hang out. Good food, great service, and quality brews! Also, the meat/cheese board is good- but I’m not a fan of all of the meats they use… So they make it special with us with extra cheeses and no meat! Awesome!
Sorely disappointed. I love micro breweries, I really do. I wish I could’ve sampled some of their food and beers. The waitress didn’t seem to know much about the brews and took 20 mins to come back with two samples which weren’t even close to the type I described that I like and then we never saw her again. I left before they got a chance to take any of my money. I’ll make the drive to Rio Rancho to Turtle Mountain
Great Beer, Great Soft Pretzels. Looking forward to trying other food on their menu including their Brewers Board/charcuterie and cheese platter.Great space, lighting, seating and overall design. We enjoyed several beers including their Marzen. We also had two other very interesting and sophisticated beers. The Elsa was a pale, highly hopped, beer with a high ABV and a very smooth taste. Also extremely tasty was the Apricot Saison, unfiltered and with an unique slightly sour taste. I’ve had Il Vicino beers at their restaurants but was surprised by the variety and quality of beers on offer at the IVB Canteen.Nice crowd on an early Tuesday evening. Sorry we missed the warm patio season this year but the inside is very inviting as well.
