Great dinner. While traveling to Las Cruces from Albq, we viewed Katana Restaurant and found the directions misleading. Katana Grill is the left not right on University behind some trees so we could see the signs. They need to trim the trees up a bit. Finally got there after giving up and then I saw it from the rear parking lot. Eric the host was gracious and very attentive. I ordered Sushi and Spicy Tuna hand rolls, Excellent, My friend ordered off the Teppanyaki Grill Also Excellent. Eric again very knowledgeable and attentive, Great smile and great attitude. Nice and delicious food and nicely priced. Great place I would certainly recommend it.

Favorite Place in Cruces. We regularly eat at Katana, our kids absolutely love the food and the entertainment. The new owner, James, is very personable and makes the dining experience a very rememberable one, especially for our town! The food is always fresh and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant, great service and excellent food!!!

A rare GREAT restaurant in Cruces. When I was a kid growing up in Cruces I used to look forward to visits to Albuquerque, Denver and Tucson for the sole reason of getting to go to a Benihana or Japanese Kitchen. So Katana has not only cut down on my commute time to a teppan-yaki joint, but it’s honestly as good or better than the ones you’d find in larger, more distant cities. I was already loving this place for its dinners (and dinner prices versus the ridiculously overpriced Japanese Kitchen), but now I’m diggin’ it even more since discovering the amazing Mongolian BBQ lunch for 8.99. A-MA-ZING! Bottom line: Katana is a delicious needle to discover in a haystack of what seems like Cruces’ zillions of Mexican dives.

Service very slow. Too much spice even when I asked for no spice. Charged for mustard!!!! Won’t be back

Awesome food!. My husband and I went here on a Saturday night. We called ahead and put our name in and when we arrived we got seated right away. We went over the menu and chose our food pretty quickly as the menu is not too huge. We did wait a while for our chef to come out and start the show but it was well worth it! Our chef was James and he rocked it! He was very nice and you can tell he enjoys his job! He gave each person at our grill (it was myself, my husband and a couple with their teen-age son) a taste of everything everyone ordered. I have to say the fillet Mignon was to DIE for! I never knew steak could taste soooo good! We left there very full and satisfied, you do get a TON of food! We will definitely go back…we are actually going for lunch today and will be taking our 3 and 4 yr old daughters with us to see the show!! 🙂 The food is expensive *but* you get what you paid for and then some, they are not skimpy on the food at all. When we left our plates looked like we hadn’t even touched anything! They do have doggie bags too so you can enjoy your leftovers later! I give this place 5/5 stars, one of the best restaurants in LC!
