Really has diminished over time. Food is no longer a value and is now not at all a shadow of its previous self (has lost its soul). Have been going there for 35 years and recently seen the decline. Any positive review is from cult followers….it’s just not good and many times down right bad.
Great local food. New Mexican or breakfast. I had enchiladas with green chiles. Superb! Tortillas are home made and delicious. Exceptional value for this cheap airline pilot!
They used to serve amazing burritos, smothered in delicious green chili. Sadly, things have changed. The Frontier burrito is now a bunch of mystery meat with no green chili. (Mind you, I ordered EXTRA green chili, so it was extra disappointing). My friend, who has lived in Abq for 20+ years, confirmed that it’s gone downhill, and sometimes even makes people sick (don’t eat the ‘community salsa’). Ironically, their prices have gone up.
Really good food, great prices. Plates big enough to share (for us anyway). Local institution I understand – glad we made it! Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxcx
This restaurant is a New Mexican staple. Very food and reasonably priced. Walking in through the back parking lot we snaked our way to the front of the restaurant where you order at the counter . Green lights show when a cashier is ready for you to step up andtake your order . The Mexican plate was good a crispy taco and a rolled cheese enchilada with rice and beans and 1 flour tortilla. The wait for food was about 15 mins or less . Diner style dining rooms and crowded. Overall a nice place…free refills and a touch screen coke machine to pick soda flavorings and all.
A UNM go-to, but the quality is top-notch. Really good Mexican food. I especially enjoyed the Chicken Enchiladas with Chopped Green Chilis. If visiting UNM, this should be at the top of your list of restaurants to try. diningoutdfw.com
A place you gotta try. The sweet rolls are to die for. If you haven’t tried them you must. The tortillas are so great too. This is a place I crave regularly.
