So so. Ordered the cashew chicken dinner combo to go tonight and was somewhat bummed. The egg roll that comes with the meal is the smallest egg roll I think I’ve ever seen. The egg drop soup was more like egg drop gelatin. It was thick, slimy, and had no flavor at all. Yuck. The entree itself was pretty good though. The chicken and all the veggies were cut into small pieces, making it possible to get a little piece of each component all in one bite. That’s a big bonus for me. For $8.50, I would say this is a pretty decent deal, but if I come back, I absolutely will not order the combination dinner. The soup and egg roll were both a joke. Unfortunately though, I likely won’t be back because there are just so many other options here in Albuquerque that care more about quality control. I can’t imagine the person who served me egg drop gelatin cares in the slightest about the food they’re handing out or retaining customers.
Cha Sha Chicken!. Don’t get here as often as I would like due to parking issues. But the students are gone and I can get one of my favorite Chinese meals in town. The Cha Sha Chicken is sweet/sour/spicy-and I love it. I don’t know of any place else in town that has anything like it on the menu. This little dive is truly note-worthy for this dish.
Great place for cheap eats. Better than ho hos by far. Good food and friendly staff. My favorite dish is the triple delight. I highly recommend.
Local Fav. I’ve been going to Kai’s for over a decade now. Great food for very low prices. It’s not gourmet cuisine people, it’s a little hole in the wall restaurant, and the food is better than expected. Fast and friendly service, and they have some of my favorite fried rice.
When you’re broke and hungry….. Well this was this situationI am hungry, I got five bucks, and I am on campus. What to do? Well go to Kai’s of course. This place isn’t the greatest Chinese food and doesn’t have the nicest dcor inside or out but it has a decent lunch for cheap. Five dollars will get you soup, rice, an egg roll, and a main dish. It’s not that good but it’s not the worst. Hey I got 8 shrimps in my shrimp and lobster sauce, pretty good by most standards. The food is hot, the price is cheap, and the location is convenient.
A hole in the wall that makes you want to put a hole in your head. This place is geared toward broke college kids and it IS cheap. However the food is some of the worst Ive ever had in my life. Period. Thats all I have to say. I would recommend Panda Express over this place, its that bad. Greasy, Flavorless garbage. drexlermcstyles.tumblr.com
Great lunch special!. Great place for students! Walking distance from UNM with a $5 lunch special (egg drop soup, egg roll, entree, and fried rice).
