If you’re in nob hill and want some bar good try this place. It’s not just ordinary bar food it’s actually really good and the serving sizes are big. The Ruben sandwich is the best thing on their menu.
The location is pretty cool and that’s where it ends. The food is awful and overpriced, the tables and chairs in the dining area are always dirty, the service is slow, the inside of the restaurant smells like bleach and most of the waitresses think they are Hooters girls where in reality they are ugly and overweight. I think the owners should sell the place to someone who knows how to run a business and serve great food and beer.
Not good. This place was pretty expensive for what I got. I didn’t like my burger and the other person in my party thought his sandwich was flavorless and dry. I won’t be back
Absolutely Horrible !!!!!!!. Please keep walking if you happen upon this establishment. We did have clues that this place may not be a good selection, but mistakenly elected to stay anyway. My husband and I visited late on a Sunday afternoon post Graduation Ceremony. The patio was about 1/2 full and there was no one sitting inside. We were offered a table inside , in the bar area and were told by the hostess to take any table we wanted. We chose a booth in the far corner as the other 2 booth tabletops were dirty. The menu presented to us which was covered in plastic, was filthy and made me wish for hand sanitizer. The restaurant was fully staffed but no one was attentive to us and our waitress was rarely to be seen in our area. We had to flag someone down to get more ice tea, salad dressing, and our check. In fact, two servers, ours included, sat in chairs watching tv in plain sight of us and another table, never even glancing our way to observe our well being. Meanwhile, the tables have still not been cleaned off…..or menus wiped down…but there was plenty of time to address these details, sadly.The same lack of pride, or attention to detail was observed in the food we were served. My husband ordered chile cheese fries which had good flavor but was just thrown together. The green chile was only on one side of the bowl and the edges of the bowl had splatters of sauce and cheese over the side..very sloppy presentation. My greek salad was a disappointment. It consisted of tired lettuce and cabbage, accompanied by (2) dolmas, (2) peperocini, low quality feta cheese, olives, cucumbers and tomatoes. It was all overburdened with way too much oregano. It appeared to have no salad dressing on it, but when I asked the waitress for some vinaigrette, she told me it had oil and vinegar on it. I could not tell that it was dressed with anything and certainly did not appreciate her attitude when I asked for some dressing. We will certainly never return to Kelly’s Brewpub after this experience. A lovely, historic location where clearly no one, management included has passion for, or love of the food industry.
Just bad. Why do I keep coming back? The beer is fair at best. The food is boring and poor quality. The wait staff would rather be any where but here. This will be my last time I spend a nickel in this poorly managed dump. Too many great places in Nob hill to waste money at Kelly’s. The great patio can no longer make up for the overall poor quality of this place.
An summary of Kelly’s from an inside view. After reading about 10 reviews in a row that are all negative, I thought i’d give everyonea birds eye view of why Kelly’s has earned the recent horrid reputation that they oncedidn’t have. The owner’s of this place, janice and her lazy emasculated husband( or asthey call it in NM.. partner), have purposely let this place to go to —-. Their privileged, alsolazy children, have no interest in carrying on this place. The terrible service exists becausethe only people that work there can’t work anywhere else and have no education. Lastly,Kelly’s doesn’t pay their bills, so if your vendors won’t supply you anymore then you won’tstay in business very long. The only reason they are still in business is because of location.From an insiders perspective, I’d give Kelly’s 1-1/2 to 2 years MAX and they’re either goneor taken over by a corp. like Il vicino’s. Either way, they’re a memory and a bad one at that.Good riddance!!
It would be ok if they ever actually brought you the food you ordered! Horrible service! Food is so so! Avoid this place!
