Delicious. I went here with my parents a couple days ago for lunch. The food was fantastic, the drinks are great, and it is a really fun environment. Everything was quick and efficient, this is a definitely a great place to visit! Best shakes in town for sure!
I miss Model Pharmacy!!. Albuquerque’s Model Pharmacy made it on the short list of things I miss most about burque now that I live out East. The floats are really delicious and they have enough different syrups and ice creams that i’m not sure i succeeded in my mission to try them all, especially if you consider malts, egg creams, rickeys, and any other old time soda jerk menu item. the food is good and not too terribly pricey for the duke city, although once you get a shake too it isn’t cheap… aside from the food, they also carry a variety of fancy soaps and things, chocolates, men’s shaving accessories (straight razors, lather brushes, etc), stationary, and my personal favorite: fancy hair combs. It’s a great place. Try the french onion soup, it is really good.
I am neither a senior citizen nor drive lexus or a bmw but I am a professional chef and frequent the model for lunch. The only place where I can eat a great blt made w applewood smoked bacon.24 Nov, 2010Love the smoked salmon platter
One of my favorites in ABQ. This is one of my favorite lunch places in Albuquerque. I’ve eaten there for years. I’ve never had a bad meal there and had many lunches that were simply superb. My niece used to work here and is as fond of the owner, Jack, as my wife and I are. He is a real southern gentleman who understands good food and friendly service. We’ll be back soon!
Is it even legal???. My first and only visit to the Model of what not to do while trying to operate a business. On a beautiful Wednesday afternoon my friends and I decided to eat at the Model Pharmacy upon entering the building (Should have been the first sign) I was accosted by the most disgusting smell, a combination of mothballs and the smell of cheap perfume that reminded me of a assisted living facility. We were seated by a grumpy bald man who appeared to be more occupied with what the servers were doing than providing customer service himself. Our server on the other hand was delightful! We heard the grumpy man (who come to find out is the owner) reprimanding our server for using to much tape on brownies, instead of letting her do her job and serve us he blatantly scolded her and other employees loud enough for the entire dining room to hear. SHAME ON HIM Now to the food, the food was not great but not bad I could have made a better Salami sandwich myself. The chips were stale and may as well have come from food stored in a garage. The shakes were good but way over priced (Along with everything else)The entire experience was ruined by the owner who created not only a hostile dining environment for us but I can imagine the work environment for the staff that works there. Overall I would highly recommend going to eat at a hospital cafeteria before eating here. Not only would the food taste better but it would be cheaper too!
Pretty good home cookin’. Pretty good prices. Not at all an exclusive middle aged white people place. Great soda fountain.
