When I discovered my friend had never eaten miso soup, I immediately took to the internet to find a restaurant that served it. After some deliberation, I chose O Ramen to be his miso cherry-popper. That was such a bad, bad choice. We both had the miso ramen, and we both absolutely hated it. It tasted absolutely nothing like any miso I have ever encountered. He didn’t say anything because he thought that their horrible interpretation was what it was supposed to taste like; I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to look like ‘one of those people’. So we blew 25 dollars on 2 bowls of yuck and a bite-sized serving of seaweed salad, and neither of us has plans to return.
Delicious food and rather nice if small location. I liked that there spicy options were actually spicy and not mediocre there level 5 is hot. There curry is very good as well as there ramen dishes which was a pleasure since soup is not always the only thing you want if you’re in a group though I’d say not to get it at level 5 because it can overwhelm the curry flavors. There chicken ramen is very good the breading is delicious and portion well done also it’s nice that it’s a non pork option and they also offer a vegetarian option as well. As an added bonus in my mind if you find the portion a bit to much and like leftovers there to go contaners are nice and if washed are good a sturdy enough to be reused as contaners around the house.
Very tasty, no frills ramen. The menu is small but that shouldn’t deter you. The chicken gyoza was very tasty and the deluxe ramen (I got mine with chicken) was flavorful and just the right size. I’m generally a pho fanatic, but I could definitely see myself eating ramen here a lot!
I’ve never tried ramen like that before, so I was very excited to go and try it for the first time. I ordered an appetizer (takoyaki) and the Deluxe Ramen (their most popular). The food came out pretty quickly, but they forgot to put in the order for my appetizer, and that’s not the worst part… The Deluxe Ramen literally tasted like someone threw old fish tank water, boiled it, and served it. Funny part is, there’s no fish in that dish. AWFUL.
I really enjoyed the food and the prices were fair. Expect it to be somewhat simple and not a ramen speciality place with tons of verities.
Authenthic, tasty, good value. Delicious, authentic ramen in a low-key, friendly setting across Central Ave. from the University of New Mexico. For a vegetarian like me, O Ramen’s menu options are limited — but I’m OK with that because the vegetarian ramen with panko-fried tofu is so good! I’ve never ordered an appetizer because the entrees are so filling. I also appreciate the selection of 4+ Japanese microbrews (especially Tokyo Black, an American-style porter). Good value, quality food. We’ll be back.
Slow service seems family serve the super hot bowls of soup!!!. Visiting the O ramen house, I experienced very slow non attentive , service. Seems family owned and not at all true Japanese, I felt sorry for the servers , handling very Hott , very big bowls of soup with no trays or plates or napkins. Very Much not a place I will return.
