I guess I need to put on my ABQ hat – and try not to compare to some excellent Chicago udon and tempura. But oh dear, it’s just lame. Fried gyoza were pastey ( and small) avocado roll (also small) lacking flavor – rice tasteless. Chicken teriyaki was way overcooked, even tough, tempura reasonably good, tho not as light as I have had, but shrimp had no flavor. Udon soups ok, veggie better than seafood, not much seafood – only a soggy tempura shrimp, and flavorless.

Ok but eh… The waiters are friendly and attentive and the environment/atmosphere nice but I feel its a bit over priced for the quality of food. I found there beef and chicken to be a bit on the dry side and rather bland in the flavor department, but it is a sushi place so perhaps that is better but I’m not sure. I know if your looking for a place for seafood with someone ells that is not a fan of things from under the sea I don’t really recommend this sushi place there are better less expensive options in town with better food of both the seafood and non seafood verity.

Phenomenal sushi and kind waiters, BUT condescending sushi chefs.. My experience here was mixed. The sushi and waiter were phenomenal. YET, the staff making the sushi were rude and awkward. Not only were they staring while I was eating the majority of my visit, BUT they were looking condescendingly at how I was eating the sushi. Given this was my first time eating at an actual sushi restaurant (i’ve eaten sushi at other places, like Whole Foods), but I do NOT like being judged and stared at while eating my food. I came here to enjoy good sushi and to have a good time with my fiance. But, that’s what colored my experience negatively. I cannot even explain how much I felt unwelcome (read: feeling like a LOWER person). Other than that, the actual waiter was kind and attentive. The sushi chefs, not so much.
