We visited The Shop today for the first timebased on the glowing reviews we foundonline. I wish I could say I felt so warm and fuzzy about the food as the online reviewers. The staff were all very nice and our food( ordered at the counter)was delivered timely, alas the Eggs Benny I received were a big disappointment. The biscuit was refrigerator cold and very dry, the hollandaise had no discernible green chile flavor and tasted of nothing butraw egg yolk and was cool to the touch- major yuck! I was disappointed in finding a cold salad(dressing too sweet) on the plate in lieu of potatoes(although some may find a refreshing alternative to potatoes, not me)and perhaps since this was my first visit this wasintended tobe a cold dish, but I doubt it. My partner ordered the Croque Madame and was grossly underwhelmed by the soggy cinnamon brioche bread and sweet bacon. I will say we both enjoyed our coffee very much. My partner is willing to give this place another try but I for one am not.
This is a relaxed ambiance with delicious food. I had the Biscuits and Chorizo Gravy and OMG this was heavenly! Homemade biscuits with poached eggs, avocado and the homemade gravy. It’s not too spicy it has a little a kick to it.
Walking in you are immediately struck by the ambiance of the typical small independent funky university strip-mall dive, but It’s busy. Our food arrived luke warm, but it was so good I really didn’t care. The Green Chile Benedict is beautifully done, the hollandaise is made by someone who knows how, the egg was perfectly poached and A+ for replacing the meat with a tomato slice to make it vegetarian for me. I will come back and stand in line for this culinary creation again.
The Shop is a gift from the Food Gods. I’m a hard working man. It’s not easy to fill me up for a decent price, especially when you’re trying to eat healthier (organic/natural) I was so pleased with The Shop. I loved the food. I got grits and shrimp, it was hands down amazing! If you have not stopped here please give it a try you will not be sorry.of course the staff was really nice, very clean including the bathroom. If they keep this up it will without a doubt be my favorite restaurant to go to for lunch and breakfast. Once again please please please stop by and show this little badass restaurant some love.X
The Americana. House made sausage….mmmm!14 Nov, 2014Huevos Rancheros. Delicious… Every bit!
Best food in this location so far!. The venue that now hosts The Shop has had a few other tenants over the years. I hope this one sticks around. The food was tasty and artfully presented, prices reasonable for the portions, and the menu pretty varied for a little place. I had the huevos rancheros, and they were quite satisfying, but prepared in a lighter style that I enjoyed.
Excellent breakfast. This place just opened up a couple months ago, and I had heard good things. I went in today and had the American Breakfast, a simple eggs, sausage, potatoes and toast. Everything was great, and unique even the scrambled eggs exceeded my expectations. I will definitely return and would recommend this place to anybody
