Just Okay. The coffee was quite good, but the food was bland and forgettable. The atmosphere was okay, thick with the whole college coffeehouse vibe. However, we were interrupted several times by people begging and there was a slight urine odor by our table. The clientele seemed to be made up of hippies, hipsters, and homeless. Not a bad place, but I didn’t feel welcomed by the employees.
Great food, questionable service. I love the breakfast burrito here, and also their bean and rice burrito smothered with red chile (I’m not usually a red fan). Their veggie burger with corn chips is also excellent. However, with only a 1 hour lunch break, I don’t get to go here very often as their service is often abysmally slow. Ordering line moves slowly, and then you can end up waiting 25+ mins for your food. It’s a nice place to eat healthy food on the cheap if you’re able to take your time, but not recommended if you are looking to eat and go.
Good Food, Customer service ok. I like Winnings, I spent a better part of my undergrad degree studying in there. I recently started going back because of a friend of mine at work. I was ok until an employee in the restaurant started arguing with me about getting a refill on coffee. The guy was cocky and a jerk (the only redhead), and all I wanted was another cup of Joe. There sign specifically says up to 2 refills when you order a coffee. This is what I thought I had done, but evidently if you bring your own cup they supposivly don’t charge you for a full cup of coffee??? (this isn’t posted anywhere) If I go on days that this redheaded jerk is not there, the place is wonderful. Their food is a little pricey, but well worth the price! Really good Vegan/Vegetarian sandwiches, and their breakfast burrito is to die for!
Yummy sandwiches and burritos. Great place to visit if you’re vegetarian or vegan, as they have many options suitable for meat-free eaters! A great place to hang out, especially if you’re a UNM student. I wish the seats were more comfy and the tables a little more sturdy for when you gotta study, but overall a good place to eat at.
Breakfast burrito is the best! A full meal for less than $5! Great coffee too! Fun atmosphere.
Caffeine and Culture. Winnings is the best place to take your coffee in the University area.The selection is phenomenal with iced as well as hot beverages including superb Yerba Mate. Winnings also features a variety of freshly baked pastries (try the bluberry muffins!!!!)Winnings also serves food. Their healthy and organic fares are incredibly delicious and help you to appease the appetitie without any of the guilt. Breakfast burritos, fried potatoes, pancakes and more.Bradley sells books here periodically and always has a great selection for a great price. The people are generally friendly and the art never fails to inspire conversation. I recommend the iced coffee and a piece of banana bread.
A nice hearty breakfast. I come here once in a while for breakfast, and always order the same thing; The Breakfast Burrito. Its huge and delicious, filled with hash browns and other veggies and covered in Spicy Green Chile (which I top off with a spoonful of Sour Cream). One word of advice though: Do NOT order the Red Chile, its some of the worst Ive ever hadThe place is a bit of a scene with the Hipsters and other cool kids on display, but that usually doesnt affect my meal. Keep an eye out for the traveling Book Shop thats in there a couple days a week, he has a great selection of books! drexlermcstyles.tumblr.com
