After spending several weeks traveling New Mexico and sampling New Mexican and Mexican cuisine at numerous restaurants, Rancho de Chimayo was hands down our best meal of the trip. Two different friends of ours recommended this restaurant to us. We only wish we could have returned for another meal here. The food and sauces were amazing, by far the best we tasted anywhere. We kept turning to each other with looks of amazement as we tasted the various offerings on our combination plates. The refried beans and rice were also the best we have experienced. And the sopapillas were light and puffy. I stuffed mine with some of the food on my plate, while my wife ate hers with the syrup they provided. The restaurant is elegant and not crowded, with great service. Though we stopped by on our way back from Taos, it is well worth the 35 minute drive from Santa Fe.
Wow!. Wow, totally blown away. How have I been visiting Santa Fe annually for so many years and never heard of this place? I highly recommend eating here. Chicken flautas were unbelievably good. They were very crispy and hot, yet not over fried. My wife got some sort of chile releno inside a sopapilla. It was very unique and very good. The iced tea was especially fresh and good.
Great food, great drinks, great experience. Its a must try, the food is amazing, the ambiance is perfect for a first date, anniversary, even a wedding reception. The Chimayo Cocktail is to die for and the Silver Coin Margarita is the best in the state. I highly recommend this one.
Very quaint. This was a wonderful surprise after being on the road for an hour or so. The staff were so friendly, the food was great, and the ambiance was very relaxing. Reasonably priced as well.
Another long-time favorite!. Have been coming here for half-a-century or so. Great setting, great food, great Chimayo Cocktail! A real pleasure and always consistent.
A Sunday drive from Santa Fe to Chimay is perfect for visitors especially with kids. There is almost always a wait but not long because the dining room has so many tables. Service is friendly though it can be a bit slow. Quintessential Northern New Mexico offerings. Tasty margaritas.
Best Spanish food in New Mexico!! Omg this place is to die for!! Don’t forget to try the sangria!!
