Give it another try. Very nice decor & good service. Just not sure about the food. Had the duck, which was cooked well, but the sauce did not complement the duck. Being a fatty, gamey poultry I would think a sweet and acidic sauce would be in order. They made it with some kind of cream sauce. Thus, I was disappointed with this dish.
The Best Kept Secret that has to be SHARED!!. We find Blade’s one of the best kept secret’s in Placita’s and Albuquerque area. We have eaten at Blade’s numerous times and have always had excellent friendly service and very professional. Having traveled several European countries we feel in love with the menu and all the unique flavors. You will not find the food here smothered in red or green chili just full beautiful bursting flavors in every bite. Suggest this intimate Bistro to all who appreciate the finer foods of European Bistro dining.
Cold Shoulder. Food spotty, hostess/owner Anja is like global weather. Warm sometimes, cold and remote most times. I can go elsewhere, less pricey, to be ignored .
Been here before for breakfast & loved it. Tonight went there with a reservation. Not one person said hello to me or my wife. Not one person acknowledged that we were there. Hostess was hugging & saying hello to others. Others were seated. Not us. Not sure why? My wife is Black. I’m Hispanic. We left. Spending our $ eating in Nob Hill instead
Excellent. This is a trully excellent resturant.. It’s not fast food, but the atmosphere, attentive service and excellent drinks allow you to enjoy the wait for your food which will be a true joy to eat. Somewhat limited menu, but everything is wonderful.
LOVE Blades!. I have known Kevin and Anja for over 20 years. I’ve worked with them and have been to restaurants they ran in Holland. You could not have two better people running a restaurant in which you dine. They are two people who are completely dedicated to their restaurant. They have been all over the world gaining experience and we are lucky to have that experience in Placitas. I have never had a bad experience at Blades. The service has always been top notch. If they are serving Clam Chowder don’t miss it as it is the best I’ve ever had. Its worth the drive if you live outside of Placitas and the quality is A+++
