Absolutely fantastic food!! We both got combination plates with a cheese enchilada, pork tamale and I added a beef taco. We ordered red and green sauce on the side. The tamale was good just a little dry. The enchilada was excellent! But the beef taco stole the show! The beef it tender and we’ll seasoned. The side of salsa made it even better. I plan on going back for lunch and just getting the taco plate! As others have already said the sopaipillas are superb also! Even the side of beans were some of the best I’ve ever had. I’m glad we got the red and green sauce on the side because they both had a kick to them. You won’t regret going here!

Best meal we had in Taos. Green chili and red chili was outstanding. Green chili enchiladas, beef tacos, chicken tacos and chips were killer! No alcoholic beverages served which made us think about leaving since we’d hiked and fished all day in the mountains. Staying and eating at Ranchos was the best decision we made all day! Cold beers could wait. Don’t miss eating the most authentic Mexican meal in Taos. Also the owners and staff were so nice and showed their pride in their business with first class attitudes and smiles. We live in the Charleston, SC, rated as one of the friendliest cities in the world. Ranchos Plaza Grill can hold itself with any restaurant we have in Charleston both in cuisine and hospitality. Well done!

Religious experience with a vegetable enchilada. Apparently its proximity to the famous San Francisco de Assisi Mission Church, this restaurant is not able to get a liquor license, but the food is so worth it that you should go anyway. The outdoor patio wasn’t open when we went (a Saturday evening in early October), so were seated in a brightly-lit room after a wait of about 15 minutes. So maybe it’s not the most atmospheric of places, more like being in someone’s very brightly-lit kitchen, but the food was outstanding. By far the best vegetable enchilada I’ve ever had–with not just the usual peppers and squash but carrots, mushrooms, and tiny perfectly-cooked broccoli. My friend had the chicken enchiladas and was similarly happy. I think I was even happier because vegetarian entrees in Mexican restaurants often feel like an afterthought, but this one felt deliberate and delicious. Our meals were served with GIANT sopapillas and a honey bear. Have your margaritas elsewhere, and Go. Eat. Here.

Awesome Sopapillas. Was wanting some New Mexican food and this hit the spot. My husband and I had the stuffed sopapillas covered with green chili ad they were very good. Green chili was good with just the right amount of spice. My daughter had the chili fries with the red chili. I took a taste and the red chili was very good too! My favorite part of the meal was the sopapillas. They were huge, soft, pillowy bundles of goodness that tasted great with honey drizzled inside.

Best NM Food Ever!. Very clean, great service. We went twice once for lunch and once for breakfast. I had the best taco I have ever eaten. The green chili is fabulous. Best place in Taos.

I was intrigued by this restaurant with a carwash attached so decided to go one afternoon when my car was in need of a wash. I had the fish tacos and ate outside with nice mtn views and a little traffic noise .
