The most AMAZING mexican food i’ve ever had, and I’ve spend a lot in time traveling around mexico! This restaurant as amazing traditional flavor with a very mordern twist in the presentation. It’s about quality but you also get quantity, and the prices are more then resonable for what you get! We when with ab big group and tried almost one of eveything on the menu, from appertizer to desert, and it would be hard to pick a favotite dish since they were all sooo amazing! But if a had to pick my top 3 favorite was the elote (grilled corn with amazing spices), the shrimp ceviche (they called it something else i’ve forgot), and of course the chile releno (stuffed pepper with cheese). Both sauce red and green were aazing on the chili. Also if you are a shrimp fan i would defenetly recomend the shrimp enchiladas, seriously out of a 5 star restaurant. I still crave the flavor from the fried banana desert. For drinks i got some mexicain beer on tap,, it was cold ans crips tasting, the tap are obviously well clean! Thanks for this amazing experience, can’t wait to go to Taos again so i can come and eat your food everyday!
Best chili relleno I have had in the United States. Excellent service in a welcoming atmosphere. This is a must hit place if you are in Taos!!
Horrible Service!!! We wanted to go somewhere nice for our anniversary. The hostess acknowledge us after waiting for 5 minute, then after another 10 minutes the hostess seated a party of 4 that arrived after us ( an no they didn’t have an reservation, and there was a 2 top table open right by us). We walked out!!
Awesome! Loved the thick corn chips with the smokey, spicy salsa.Chile en Nogada – an unsual, but wonderful dish. I hear that it was Frida Kahlo’s favorite dish, served at all her parties. A definite try. The sweet and savory with a kick of heat and cream really made this dish a winner. It may look weird and daunting, but be adventurous!Fajitas were also excellent! Such a wonderful char and season to the beef, and the veggies were still toothsome. The tortillas were dried out, which was disappointing.Waitstaff sort of stunk at first, but then we realized that two waiters quit suddenly, and another gentlemen was called in. He was very friendly and still made sure we were taken care of. Ended up A-OK in the end.
Great food. Good service. Authentic Mexican. Lovely patio . Friendly staff. One of a kind experience in Taos New Mexico . Local ingredients. Traditional chiles
$$$$$Mucho Dinero$$$$$. I’m a frequent diner of Taos Restaurants and especially those that serve New Mexican and/or Mexican fare. Typically, I try to give any new restaurant a little time to work out the kinks before giving it a try. This last week I went to Bella’s for lunch with a friend. After confirming that their red chile was authentic New Mexican Red, I went for the cheese enchiladas (Red), with an egg on top & a Sangria. My friend ordered the Chile Rellenos & a Blue Moon beer. Both plates came with rice & black beans. We also ordered chips/salsa/guacamole as an appetizer. The Red scored a 5 on a 1-10 scale with regard to heat & flavor! The Green that smothered the Rellenos scored a 5 on heat, and a 7 on flavor. We’re both native New Mexicans & consider ourselves very good judges when it comes to New Mexican Chile! (think Tomasita’s or The Shed in Santa Fe and Orlando’s and Taos Diner in Taos) The outside seating AND our waiter were quite pleasant! But, my enchiladas were a bit dry so I ordered a small extra side of RED. The chips outlasted the salsa ,which is a Chipotle salsa and is served in a very small bowl so we needed another bowl of salsa for both the remaining chips & to top the beans/rice. When we received the bill I noticed that we were charged an extra $2.00 for salsa. This is not acceptable to me when you’re dining at a New Mexican/Mexican restaurant! Not to mention that our LUNCH tab for 2 people, came to $59.00 before tip! In summary, 1 order enchiladas, 1 order Rellenos, 1 beer, 1 Sangria, Chips/Salsa/Guacamole for lunch with tip = almost $70.00?! NOT! MUCH BETTER VALUE & GREAT NEW MEXICAN FOOD AT ORLANDO’S, STATION CAFE OR TAOS DINER! Bella’s needs to either add a Lunch Menu, or lower their prices. Oddly, nothing ever lasts in this location?
We came to Taos and were disappointed to learn that Antonio’s, the restaurant that used to be in this location, was gone, but because of the rave reviews online for this new place, we decided to try it out. They kept the table side guacamole and the chile en nogada from the old restaurant. We ordered enchiladas, the chile en nogada, guac, nachos, and a margarita between the two of us, and everything was so delicious. The food was spicy even by our Texan standards. Service was excellent, our waitress was super sweet, and the patio seating was lovely. We left very happy and very full!
