I’ve eaten here several times and have not been disappointed with my food. It’s a nice atmosphere, particularly if you’re in a group. When dining solo, sometimes you feel like part of the decor rather than a customer. The staff seems to look beyond you rather than at you.

Breakfast on the patio was great! The only exceptions were-The snooty staffer/hostess who told us we could not come through the gate for patio seating, even though another had already given us permission. She had a snooty attitude to begin with- control issues I guess. Odd for Taos. The seemingly stale blue corn tortilla under the Huevos Rancheros, was dry around the edges but might just have been because of the hot plate under it. Not really a big deal, but it can be hard to cut and chew when it dries out. I think I wold just drown it in chili before building the dish. And there was the single diner who wanted to tell everyone around him how to live. He didn’t like people using their phones at the table. Didn’t like dogs in the patio. I bet he didn’t like the children parked behind him either. And had a few other political opinions he could have keep to himself. This is a casual restaurant- it was breakfast- most people are travelers, not locals. None of his opinions matter, and certainly should not be held against the restaurant.Overall, its a nice patio, our server was extra nice after witnessing the snotty hostess, the food issue was minute, and hopefully you wont run into the same jerk we did. Is it my favorite breakfast in Taos? No, but La Cueva doesn’t open till 10:00am, and one needs variety too! I would go back!
