Mediocre dining. In a word, unimpressive. I would recommend the desserts and wine but nothing more. For appetizers we had the lamb Wellington, and mussels and were disappointed. The entree portion of our meal was slightly worse. The duck was executed poorly, the fat was not rendered in the least and the buffalo although cooked well, was uninspired. The one bright spot was dessert, we had the caramel sundae with a shortbread cookie that was wonderful. If you go, enjoy the upstairs bar, get a dessert but consider another establishment for dinner.
Never Again. I live in Taos and have been a fan for a long time, until they changed location. Since then I’ve been back 4 times or so, each worse than the last. The other day I was totally embarrassed because I was treating a friend in from Spain. He ordered the chicken pasta special which was so small you’d have thought pasta was in short supply, the topping looked like canned dog food. My onion soup came lukewarm with a soggy piece of toast, which they didn’t replace when they reheated the soup! Even the Caesar was inedible, how that’s possible I don’t know. My friend was astonished, I was embarrassed, we went hungry until dinner time, making me hostess of the year! I have no idea how Lambert’s quality has diminished so.. from the last location, but I will never trust them again. We paid $32 for this uneaten meal, ice tea for drinks.
Perfect for Hosting Special Events – Delicious & A+ Service. Based on wonderful reviews of Lambert’s we contacted them to discuss hosting a night-before-the-wedding-dinner event for forty-five people. From beginning to end they were extremely professional, worked with us to create a menu for our group and were so helpful in keeping within our budget for the event! Our guests could not say enough about how much they enjoyed the delicious food and exceptional service that evening! The dishes we had as options on our menu for the guests were: Organic Greens Salad, Wild Mushroom Risotto, Atlantic Salmon, Beef Stroganoff with Fruit Plate or Zeke’s Mousse as dessert options. Everything was spot on fantastic as were the wines they served. As it was October and a bit chilly, we opted to host our event inside within three adjoining rooms but highly recommend the lovely patio for event gatherings when it’s warmer weather out. We were also delighted to find they had created customized menus to hand out to guests that evening – such a nice touch! And two of our guests had specific dietary requirements and Lambert’s assisted by providing for that couple’s needs as well. We highly recommend Lambert’s for any special event or just a delicious meal, and only wish we were closer so we’d be able to enjoy dining there on a regular basis! Thank you to the very talented chef, Ky, as well as, Molly, Sara and a most excellent wait-staff at Lamberts for making our gathering such a worry-free, lovely experience!
Fabulous food. Fresh fresh fresh. A great place
We had dinner her our first night in Taos. The were having a special 25% off entrees. You can’t beat that. The dining room area was nice but very loud. Our waiter was a trip. He reminded us of a stoned dead head that had been thrown forward in time. We had a tri of soups for our appetizer. All were exceptional. I had the buffalo steak special which was delicious. My friend got the seafood paella. Bad choice. It was terrible. Not smart to eat seafood this far from water. For dessert we had ice cream. Great place just don’t do the seafood
Very good food superbly presented. My venison chops were perfectly prepared. The chicken stuffed with ricotta and spinach served over capellini was another fine entre. I recommend Lambert’s for a fine dining experience.
