Ill Take a Bite out of that Love AppleLocated in a former chapel, Love Apple is all kinds of charming. In addition to the tables in the chapel there is a lovely outdoor sitting area. There is no hard liquor but there is a pretty good wine selection including some good ones by the glass.Service is friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Since a lot of the ingredients are local, it is nice to ask things about the menu. The blue corn muffins were delicious as were the cheese & apple & caramelized onion quesadilla appetizer. The salad with fresh fruit was very nice. We really enjoyed our main dishes of the trout and the antelope. Weve never tried antelope before and it was lean and tender and delicious. We finished with an excellent apricot crumble with ice cream.Im drooling while I type.
The love apple. My wife and i went there after a terrible meal the night before, elsewhere. On our previos trip to Taos 20 years ago the food was the high point, ok so the skiing was incredible. So we were psyched, and the Apple came highly recommended. We arrived on time and were seated on arrival, yes thru the kitchen but i thought that was cool, and i got to photograph the staff. My wife ordered the Local Las Aguas Farm Spinach Salad and i had Bernard’s Quinoa Fritter and cilantro salsa sunny side up( ask for it by name) as appetizers, i also had the beet soup. dinner for the lady was Wild boar tenderloin to die for and i had the Braised local beef short ribs equally fantastic. for desert we splurged and had the pannacotta and the flour less chocolate cake with a side of coconut sorbet not to be missed.the service was wonderful, attentive, friendly & perfectly timed. All in all a great eating experience for two foodies.
Romantic and delicious. My husband and I stopped at the Love Apple on our way home to Colorado after doing a search for restaurants in the area. I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming decor. We walked through the kitchen to be seated. I like this style of restaurant as it makes the guests feel more a part of the process of dining. The staff were all gracious and the service was print but relaxed. We were never without what we needed. The food was wonderful. We started with the cornbread. I ordered the veggie taco and every bite was so tasty and satisfying. The blending of flavours was unique and delicious. We shared the chocolate torte for desert which was incredibly rich and decadently chocolaty. We are looking forward to visiting again next time through Taos. I would love to have the taco recipe. Cheers!
We will never go back. The food is overpriced. The staff is pretentious. I ordered tacos and they gave me chicken instead of veggie and the rude wait staff told me that’s what I ordered. I don’t care how local they are, the food wasn’t good and I didn’t feel good after. Local high prices because they are located in Taos and get away with garbage.
The atmosphere was perfect for a date night. Make sure to get a reservation a day or so in advance. Had the quail en nogada and the wild boat – both were delicious (and filling)! Had to try the upside down cranberry cake for dessert. We weren’t disappointed!
Wonderful little place. The interior is interesting. The building use to be an old church. Warning-they only take cash or check. A bit odd but I can’t blame a small business trying to avoid the stupid credit card fees. We started with the venison sausage which had a nice little kick to it. I had ribeye over apple mushroom risotto. The steak was good but the risotto was way over cooked. My friend ordered the pork enchilada which the waiter recommended a fried egg on top. Great recommendation. It was to die for. The homemade guacamole was one of the best I’ve ever had. Dessert was a panna cotta and three homemade ice cream ( maple syrup bacon; butterscotch pecan and salted caramel). All were so good!
Best in New Mexico. I really can’t say enough good things about Love Apple. It was truly the best restaurant meal I’ve had in years. The dining room is small, intimate, and lovely. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. And the food was absolutely fantastic. Everything I tasted (meat and cheese plate appetizer, potato gnocchi entree, and strawberry pastry for dessert) was amazing. What a lovely, delicious dinner. I hope to return to Love Apple every time I visit Taos.
