WTF stupid owner. We were traveling in northern NM. had a list of great places to eat near Taos. tried to find Sushi a la Hattori, north of Taos. we found the right parking lot and drove all around. then we walked. COULD NOT FIND THE RESTAURANT!! granted it was dark…just after sunset. next day we went back in daylight and found two little signs that had no lighting to help people at night. walked back to the end of the strip mall. just as i gave up, my 15 year old son found it. we looked around. no in sign hanging anywhere on the outside. nothing to help first timers find it. what a STUPID OWNER !!! i am very tired of NM businesses that don’t have a clue about the most basic needs of their customers. stupid stupid stupid…that’s about as polite as i can be.
My favorite Sushi Bar/Restaurant!. Sushi A La Hattori is a fun place to go…we go there almost weekly! Delicious sushi, beautiful presentation…amazing chef…love sitting at the bar….always great. Casual and relaxed atmosphere. If you will be in a time crunch, you might want to make reservations because sometimes… this small pace is packed full. It’s a relaxing evening, so allow the time….it’s well worth it! Enjoy!
Love it. It is my favorite place in the SW for sushi.Surprisingly fresh fish, beautiful views, and nice sushi chief. The female owner can be rude ,but it’s still well worth it if you have the time to wait when it’s busy.
Weird owners and mediocre sushi.
BEST JAPANESE IN THE STATES. I went to Japan, and I felt I was there again. I love the sushi guy, he’s the best and he is not even Japanese.I like the atmosphere, nice view, and the mexican waitress is great. I’m not sure about the others though.TRY their lunch special, That’s why I always go usually. About the food, it great. About the rest, I’ll let people talk about it I guess.
World’s Best Japanese Food. My husband and I returned to the U.S. in 1983 after living in Japan for five years. Since that time we’ve been on the lookout for sushi and other Japanese favorites (tonkatsu, tempura, zarusoba, seaweed salad, etc.) that would be as authentic as the food we’d had while living in Japan. It wasn’t until we moved to Taos eight years ago and had our first meal at Sushi a la Hattori that we found what we’d been searching for. The taste, quality, and presentation of all the dishes here surpasses anything we’ve tried elsewhere–including Japan! The lunch bento-box specials are an incredible bargain at around $8.00 for a multi-course meal, and the sushi prices are quite reasonable as well. The small, hard-working staff goes out of their way to please customers, and the views are magnificent. There’s just no Japanese restaurant as wonderful as Sushi a la Hattori!
Depends – sorta find out for yourself -I’m not a sushi / person per-se butthe area & grounds are magnificent -so I do take out & tempura is yummy.
