Wow, what a great local diner. My wife and I came here for breakfast, I got a breakfast burrito and she got a pancake plate. I thought $9 was a lot for a burrito, but it was probably 2-3x the size of a regular breakfast burrito! We probably could have split one and have been full. Great value, good customer service, and tasty local food. We will come back.

Endearing Service, Decent Food with Just a Pinch of Quirky. I reflected on what I like best about visiting New Mexico and I’ve decided it’s the amazing people who live and work there. Sure, I adore the bucolic vistas, the temperate weather, the relaxed pace, and the incredibly fresh and tempting food. But it’s the infectious friendliness of the people you meet there that somehow really sticks with you the most. You’re more likely to meet the locals at the Taos Diner, where they serve a spicy chili sauce on anything you want. It’s nothing fancy, but the dining area is very clean, welcoming and comfortable. The servers and their family and boss/cook keep it simple and basic, but are very careful to use excellent ingredients served fresh and well prepared. The result is hearty, down home good eating, that is fairly priced and served hot and tasty. I got the chorizo scramble with red chili and some sliced ‘maters on the side. The red chili is quite robust, a tad spicy but not ridiculous, and a perfect complement to the eggs and sausage. The green chili is even more intense, and aligns with that spicy New Mexico tradition that will wake the senses. They will poach your eggs or make them or anything else, however you prefer. The coffee is strong and satisfying, and portions are just right. The most memorable aspect of the service were the brother and sister waitstaff team, complete with dreadlocks and head socks, tattoos and didgeridoos, warm smiles and hippie styles–all wrapped in a palpably noticeable, well-centered chakra…that is part of the charm. The experience is relaxing and enjoyable, without any of the harried crowds one experiences in other nearby locales. I will start my next visit here when I return.

Great menu and friendly staff. Usually packed, so lots of people must think it’s delicious too! So far my favorite is the regular eggs benedict.

This is where the locals go for breakfast!. Fantastic Breakfast Spot!!! The place is packed every morning by locals and travelers alike, and for good reason. Everything I have ordered from the menu has impressed me. The cinnamon rolls tasted like they were homemade, the eggs are always perfectly cooked, the service is always great. I have been here many times, but only for breakfast….. but I have heard great things about their lunch menu and burgers.

Amazing! The Max burger was one of the best hamburgers I have ever had. Wonderful bloody Mary, too. I highly recommend this place!
