Hidden Gem. I can’t believe after living my whole life in taos i had never tried Tiwa Kitchen Restaurant! ate there for breakfast last weekend, i had a stuffed frybread with buffalo sausage (amazing) and my lady got the native breakfast i think which had red chile stew and atole. both meals were incredible, i loved everything and highly recommend. i no longer live in taos, but still expect to visit Tiwa Kitchen Restaurant as frequently as i can in the future! also it is really not far out of the way at all, it is a little passed the casino so its not on the main taos strip but it is easy to find and well worth the couple minutes off of paseo!
Do yourself a favor and stop at Kiwa kitchen! It was hands down the best meal I had in Taos and we got to hang out with the owner and learn a lot about the Pueblo people. I had buffalo stuffed bannock with red and green chilies. It was outstanding, and they can make anything veggitarian too. Support this tiny local business. You won’t be key down.
