Fried Heaven. Starting with Fried Mushrooms right down to the Fried shrimp everything was wonderful. Simple and like the other review states straight forward. The green beans were a wonderful surprise and the cole slaw was a HOME RUN. Dinner crowd was nominal even on Friday night
Wonderful food and excellent customer service. If you have an appetite like mine you can’t miss with the Gibson trio with ribs, sausage, and brisket. Start off with the oysters and fried okra with the green chile ranch and don’t forget the rolls with plenty of butter. I would suggest this to anyone that is a fan of good BBQ I’m a casual and friendly setting.
Straight Forward. There’s nothing fancy about JR’s Bar-B-Que. The restaurant is located just outside of Kirtland Air force Base and gets more than its share of military lunch time traffic. The menu is designed around traditional Texas style barbecue (where the company originally started) and most items are served with beans and potato salad. The food is good, not great, and the atmosphere is homey and VERY down to earth. I like the Barbecue Beef Sandwich with a side of potato salad. A satisfying, no frills bite to eat.
