Partner and I are always on a quest for good Middle Eastern food. (I would kiss the feet of anyone who could do Lebanese Food!) Chello Grill has Persian Cuisine. It’s quite good. This new place is from the owner of Pizza 9: I was not sure what to expect. It’s counter service. The skewers of meat, salads/sides are in view. We were on the early side of lunch, giving us time to peruse the menu board. They have options of 1, 2 or 3 meat skewers, each with more sides. Every plate comes with grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a piece of naan.Partner opted for The Jujeh Kabab with tomato-cucumber salad. (It’s ground beef and onion. I know it as Shish Kafka.) It was so good: Juicy, flavorful. I’m not sure that I’ve had better! The tomato salad was tasty too. I got Koobideh-AKA, Shish Tawook, (chicken skewer.) This is the single reason I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5. The chicken was over cooked and dry. I chose a side of cucumber-yogurt. It was thick and creamy with a bit of mint. It was a generous portion that came before entrees arrived. Perfect for dipping the naan and on the chicken. The rice was good-tasted like batsmati. The grilled vegetables needed a touch of salt, but grilled to perfection.The place got busy. They may need more tables; maybe a few smaller tables. I found the servers to be friendly and available for questions. They have a tea bar. A very nice woman came around with a sample. We got cucumber water: Perfect drink with this lovely food. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Chello Grill. I’m looking forward to a return visit.
