French Cuisine. After taking French classes in High School for 3 years, I been looking for an authentic French restaurant. Choosing a restaurant for a romantic date can be one of the most challenging troubles lovers have , especially if you want to please and express your love in a very genuine old fashion way. A romantic restaurant is the significant setting of the evening which have must include an efficient yet smooth service, traditional and flavorful cuisine, and equally important atmosphere. Correspondingly, Chez Axel is a romantic restaurant to have a Valentines date because of their exquisite menu, traditional atmosphere, and dedicated service.
Well I am sitting at my table here right now. I have been waiting for quite some time. The atmosphere is great and the food seems delicious but our waitress took our menus and have them to the table next to us before we could even order. Overall, everything except the server seems to be great.
Great food!. Took 7 of my close friends for Thursday Senior Specials. Food was wonderful and the piano bar offered a lovely ambiance. I had the veal cordon bleu – my friend and I shared the tasty chocolate mousse. Others tried the filet of sole,, the salmon and beef bourginon. They weren’t disappointed. All loved this quaint French restaurant.
Reservations not welcome. I called Chez Axel and left a message trying to make a reservation, a few days passed and I did not heard back. I called during business hours and was put on hold for 10 minutes. If this is represents their customer service, I don’t care to try their food.
Me and my fianc just had lunch here and we were very satisfied. I’ve heard great things about this place and after living in the neighborhood for more than a year we finally made our way over. The atmosphere here is romantic and warm and the host/waiter was very welcoming. We started off with the onion soup which was cheesy and flavorful, served with soft French bread. My fianc had the chicken provencal and I had the quiche Lorraine. The chicken was packed full of flavor and served with sautd zucchini and rice. My quiche came with sweet, steamed herb carrots which complimented the saltiness of the quiche very well. The buttery, flaky crust really made this dish standout. Lunch is very reasonably priced and the quality of the food is excellent. We will definitely be going back here again!
Best Restaurant in Town. I eat often at Chez Axel. I always look carefully at the menu to try something new, but I always go back to the Cassoulet. It is marvelous!We took out of town friends there during the Balloon Fiesta and the man said the scallops were the best he’d ever tasted, hands down. We went back a second time that week and he ordered the scallops again. They are coming back to Abq. with other friends for two nights, and I’m sure they’ll eat at Chez Axel both nights. I’m coming too, so get the cassoulet ready!
Excellent Food. I’m from New York. I’ve eaten all over the planet, including France. I have very high standards for cuisine and expect places to deliver. They so often don’t.I ate cassoulet here, and it was authentic and delicious. The dessert was excellent and I have absolutely no complaints. For good local food this place is RECOMMENDED!!! I will definitely come back, which is the best recommendation of all.
