I walked in and loved the ambiance from the get-go. The service was good. I was greeted as I walked in. Feels like i’m in a taqueria in southern Mexico. The food was good. I wouldn’t say best tacos ever state-side but they were pretty good. I had two pastor tacos and one carne asada with a Mexican coke. The salsa was just like, pretty spicy, they had different salsa selections. I don’t believe the pastor tacos were made with a shawarma. In particular the marinated seasoning was a little too strong, normally after cooked with a shawarma it helps even it out. For me, its pretty much obligatory to have pastor tacos with shawarma, it gives it a special taste to it. Despite this, I wasn’t disappointed. The carne asada tacos, though, were on point 🙂

I am so glad this place is just down the street! Had some enchiladas – one with potato and chilies and another with cactus. The rice and beans are vegetaran with a little queso fresco. The tortillas were corn and tasted fresh. The service was friendly and fast. I will be back! thefabempire.com

I wish I lived in NYC so I could come here often! Too bad Texas doesn’t have this joint. I know right? A Texan saying that is awkward. Went with the chicken quesadillas. The salad it came with was amazing. It was topped with pickled red onions which I’m obsessed with. Portion size was good too considering it was only around $8 for my food and drink.
