As a restaurant owner I can truly say that Traif is probably one of the best selections around in Brooklyn.I am always happy to come here. The food is great and consistently good. Here are my favorite things:- Tuna Tartar- Pork belly sliders- Strawberry glazed ribs- Donuts with bacon bits.We usually order around 6 dishes for 2 people (yes we eat a lot).Service is always attentive and sweet.Try the Moroccan wine they have. If you like spicy wine this would be a great option for you. seraknowsfood.com

Worth a visit. I went with my wife Saturday night. We had a good experience. First, I like places that take reservations. Traif does so we did not wait on line. Nice vibe in the place with a pretty cool bar area. My wife had a cocktail which was excellent. The food was good. My favorites were the ribs and pork belly. We had the soft shell crab which would have been my favorite except they did not clean them. I know that is a matter of preference but I don’t like the fishy taste of the guts. Our dessert was the highlight of the night. Key Lime Pie with this really good whipped cream. With one drink, four plates of food, shared dessert and tip the bill was $96. A bit pricy, but we were full and enjoyed the meal. Service was also good. We were not disappointed as most often happens these days.

Not what i expected. There is a lot of hype about this place and I am not so sure it deserves it. Maybe I need to try more of the menu but the prices are not enticing enough to do so.My pork was undercooked. I went on a busy saturday so I guess it was rush to get my pulled pork to me. Regardless of traffic, that is unacceptable. I am not getting sick to eat overpriced food that I could get for 5 dollars on broadway.

Nice layout & good menu progression. Food platings were clean, pretty & uncomplicated, and since it is somewhat tapas style and you share, the portions were just right for 2 people (they recommend you pick 4-6 items).. Food was underwhelming unfortunately. We were the first seated at 6pm, so attention was (but could’ve been more) carefully given to the dishes. Lacked the right seasonings or acids or some flavors were flat. Pricings are reasonable and very friendly.

The food at Traif is not some of the best I’ve had in New York. Please don’t come here. The service at Traif is not some of the best I’ve had in New York. Please don’t come here. The wide open kitchen at Traif is not beautiful and does not smell absolutely amazing. Please don’t come here. And lastly the bacon doughnuts are not to die for. Please don’t come here. In reality Traif is hands down one of the best restaurants in the city. The kitchen produces visually stunning dishes that taste as good as they look. The only problem with Traif is that it is small, very small. I selfishly want this place to remain a hidden gem on South 4th Street in Williamsburg. I want to be able to come here any night of the week and enjoy the best chicken wings in the city. Sadly however the quality of food that the kitchen at Traif produces will soon make it a star in the hipster restaurant scene in Williamsburg. The food is spectacular. Strawberry cinnamon ribs taste as good as they sound and look even better. The duck confit lettuce wraps have got to be the duckiest thing I’ve ever eaten and that is definitely a good thing. The crispy pork belly, tuna tartare, confit chicken wings, brussel sprouts and seared foie topped with a runny egg were all truly amazing. But all these amazing dishes paled in comparison to the made to order, freshly fried bacon dougnuts. They were somehow light and airy as well as incredibly rich and delicious. You absolutely have to get them.Traif is amazing, the food is delectable, the service is spectacular, please don’t come here.
